There's also Gensou Shoujo Taisen/Fantasy Maiden Wars which is a Touhou fangame done in the style of Super Robot Wars. The first 2 of them even have a complete English fan translation done for them.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff. The SD Gundam G Generation series is pretty similar in terms of gameplay, at least the one I played was (Overworld on PSP). Genesis is out for Vita and PS4 now and it's (almost) purely focused on UC.
Fire Emblem is my go-to comparison if I ever have to explain SRW to non-fans (Fire Emblem with giant robots).
There's something called Super Hero Generation that mashes Gundam, Kamen Rider, and Ultraman together, but that's all I know about it other than the maps looking a bit similar.
Super Heroine Chronicle... exists and it's the same idea with girls from a variety of anime series.
If you have a 3DS, the Project × Zone series might interest you. Sega, Capcom, and Namco characters tossed into a blender with a thin excuse for a plot. The first is mostly random wandering around multiple dimensions fighting whatever the party runs into. The second game plays rather faster, so I'd recommend that one if you want to give the series a try. I think there's a demo.
Final Fantasy Tactics, the new X-COM (at least the tactical side), and the various Nippon Ichi strategy RPGs might also fit your criteria, but I'm not sure how similar you would consider the gameplay to be.
I see so Fire Emblem is basically a SRW game. Anything made from Bandpresto is fine. Honestly card games work too. Like Weiss and Schwartz for example. Bushiroad does have a few characters that were in SRW-Z so I can do a fan made game and say those guys are the same being teleported to a new dimension(s)
Or rather, SRW is a Fire Emblem game, seeing as the latter came first.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSo Famitsu just churned out it's review of the game the other day, giving it a 34/40. Mind you, Famitsu's word doesn't always actually mean anything, but it's still nice to see they liked it. They even gave it a couple of points more than Z3.2. They also said that it's 50+ hours long, though there's rumors that if you do a second playthrough, you can get a secret true ending, which tacks on several extra missions and 10+ extra hours of gameplay to boot. But take it with a grain of salt.
They also uploaded a new◊ series◊ of◊ scans◊ which go over the first few levels, and show that we'll be getting the Crossbone Gundam, Kincaid, Ryoma in the Black Getter, and Great Mazinger along with the Yamato in the opening hours of the game. The most interesting thing about this is the Great Mazinger, which I'm guessing we'll be getting to use for a while before we get handed the Mazin Emperor. We also seem to be getting it before Mazinger Z proper, which suggests that rather than covering the first season of Mazinger Z, we'll be going past it and instead doing the Great Mazinger plot in that style, effectively giving us the second season of Shin we never got. (With a bit of Zero to boot.)
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundSounds nice, but 4chan spits out an error message for each link.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī....Huh. Well, I don't know what to tell you, because the links work perfectly fine for me. In any case, here are the links vebatim. Maybe they'll work better for you via copy&paste-a. Just remember to get rid of that space at the beginning after the h. Hotlinks aren't allowed you know.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundOkay, copy-pasting seems to work fine.
Even if the translation sucks as hard as last time, I might actually buy this game. I may not get another chance to play with the Evas, Daitarn 3, and Shin Mazinger in English.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.V is looking good, can't wait for my copy to arrive. I just realized the other day that neither Combattler V nor Voltes V was in the game, which is a bit of a shame with that title.
I'm going into the final quarter or so of 2nd OG, and I have to say that I'm getting tired of all the water maps. A majority of my units can fly, and I have a fair number of screw modules, but it's really annoying having to shuffle them around every other stage. On the other hand, it's given me an excuse to use the Hagane's torpedoes again and I miss the ridiculous post-movement long-range torpedoes from the first game on GBA.
If you want to know what to expect from the English translation, well, the summary up on PSN ought to give you a pretty good idea of what you're getting:
Super Robot Wars V, the second game of the Super Robot Wars' 25th anniversary, will feature first time series appearances of works such as Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons, Brave Express Mightgaine, True Mazinger ZERO vs Great General of Darkness, Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash, and Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Skull Heart, while also introducing STAR BLAZERS 2199 as a whole new crossover. This standalone title features a dream ensemble of 26 mecha anime series that will completely reshape the game world and tell a wholly original story. So experience a new Super Robot Wars story that has evolved over 25 years!
It ain't perfect, (Star Blazers? Seriously?) but at least it's passable. If the whole game's like this, I'll be a very adequately pleased man.
Combattler and Voltes probably ain't showing up again outside of X-Omega, short of remakes. Sad but true. Honestly, I'm kind of amazed Daitarn 3 has stuck it out this long, and it still doesn't show up in the handhelds these days. Outside of UC Gundam, if you're a classic show and this isn't your first rodeo, then chances are you're not going to have another one in this day and age. (Again, outside of X-Omega. It's practically a lot of classic series' only hope.) At least we'll always have Alpha...

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundWell the name Star Blazers is technically not wrong seeing that the original Space Battleship Yamato was dubbed and released in the US back in the 70's under that name.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff. So to celebrate the impending release of V, someone cobbled together a FMV of various bits of footage from previous SWRV trailers and put it to JAM Project's Exceeder. The result is nothing sort of pure epic awesomeness.
The hype is real.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI do hope that full version is made after the game comes out because that AMV was pretty awesome.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff.Nah mate, Combattler and Voltes will be fine and will appear again! a series only stops appearing if it gets a remake, like Gaiking, or Jeeg, or the Mazingers!

So someone apparently managed to break the street date and got the game early. There still isn't much just yet, but they did leak the demo:
There's some leaks going around on /m/ that show off some of the story scenes and some of the unit stats. Appeariantly ZZ gundam is pretty strong.
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!Do you think could post a link? Because I honestly have no idea what '/m' means.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundIt's a board on 4chan that stands for "mecha". Since it's on 4chan, the thread could have been archived by now.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Thanks. Managed to find the board, but I still can't find the actual leaks. Tried looking through the archives, but I still couldn't find them. Again, if anyone's got a direct link, it would be much appreciated.

tl;dr: Hyper Mega Cannon MAP weapon is an approximately 3x5 rectangle and still extremely powerful.

De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Thanks. Anyway, I've been taking a look, and while there's a lot of good stuff there, one thing in particular stands out:
The gist is that there's a freaking post-credits scene, implying that this might be the start of a new sub-series after all. Mind you, I'm not sure if that's the best idea concerning that several series in this game are supposed to already be post-plot and most series have their plots wrapped up by the end of this game, but hey, what can you do? That said, take it with a grain of salt, because he could just be BS'ing.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundHe was openly and absolutely bullshitting. That's the issue with /m/, it's 4chan first and foremost, so you get honest info and ridiculous jokes all mixed together, with only experience to tell them apart. But when new games come out people who don't have that experience walk in and take everything at face value; and that's how you end up with crap like our page for BX still convinced Flit was making arrow to the knee jokes.
Ah. Good to know.
Anyhoo, a couple more leaks, and these ones are genuine. On the one hand, we get our first look at one of the OG villains, whose mech looks like it walked straight out of Cross Ange, just with a new coat of paint. And on the other hand, MAGICAL GIRL SALIA TO THE RESCUE!◊ (As bad as Cross Ange could get, it still had a lot of good moments, and MG!Salia was one of them. Yays!)

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-Around@kkhohoho: "Post credits scene reveals a similar jar with a fairy flying around it implying next game will have Godflash". Uh, what's Godflash?
EDIT: Never mind, looked it up on Google. It's the mecha from The Great Battle VI.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.
There is a crossover video game (between the major titles of Type-Moon) called Battle Moon Wars. It is, in fact, a fan game that's directly based on Super Robot Wars. Might be a tad difficult to find, though.
