I am the only one that finds weird that Microsoft gave up Bungie Studios that easily.

I mean If I was Microsoft I would have never let Bungie go that easily. I mean having absolute control of a triple A studios. And then giving then their freedom including the ability to makes games for the competition...

I find extremely wierd that Microsoft let then be free. What would Microsoft gain?. Is not like bungie could rebel or anything. Ms was their owners after all.

If you ask me I find This is very very suspicious.

A Limited time contract is limiting. (that or MS is penny pinching.)

I'm not too sure if this is accurate, but based on what I have seen so far with 343i, this is what is going on:

Microsoft now has all the rights to Halo, so MS can make their own Halo games without having to deal with a second party, and as a result, they can get more money off of the franchise. The complete control over the franchise also means that they can make more merchandise to make more money, while making sure Bungie does not get any of it, as seen with Bungie being forced to remove most Halo stuff off of their online store after the split.

I don't have too much to say.

And if you think this is some good thing, be aware Bungie's new contract is with *Activision*. That's like trading fealty to Julius Caesar, for fealty to Satan.

Not the same. Their contract is more like with what Blizzard did with Activision. Activision doesn't control Blizzard like they do Infinity Ward. Same with Bungie. Activision can't milk their next franchise dry like COD.

Microsoft is betting that its the name Halo that sells, not the people behind it.

They'll probably be right.

Activision has a 10 year contract with Bungie. Before the contract, Microsoft had right-of-first-refusal on games from Bungie after MS let them go.

Basically, Bungie wanted to spread their wings, Microsoft didn't want to back their new concept, so rather than have hard feelings, Microsoft allowed them to pursue their own projects, with the idea that after 10 years, Bungie would still have warm-and-fuzzy feelings towards MS and collaborate again.

[up][up]Obviously it depends on the next game. I doubt 343i will have a hard time making the games, they've got 4 games that lay out the blue-prints.

Most people I've talked to are pretty cautious of the next game though.

[up]What is it Bungie's working on? You'd figure after making a franchise like Halo, MS would be ready to back anything they did.

Hmm. I wonder if it's going to be an MMO or like MAG with a dash of Bioshock Infinite.

I only said I tough it was weird, I am not conspiracy theorist at all.

I belive it is an ambiguous business movement not an illuminati/Masons conspiracy

^^^ Halo 4 is being worked on by 343 Industries. Bungie aren't involved. (Although, certain staff at 343i are former Bungie employees.)

^^From what I've heard, the talented staff left for greener pastures, kinda like what happened with Westwood Studios and EA.
