Response: Remove the non-zero digits. *shrug*
We really need someone who can do good sprite art.
月を見るたび思い出せI might be able to try sprites if I get more time-
I missed that the first time somehow.
If I ever try to make sprites, I would probably try to take as many shortcuts as possible which would make it seem like it came out of a poor man's Paper Mario.
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.Well, can you at least show us an example? How bad is it?
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI'm fairly preoccupied with current coursework at the moment, and don't know Python yet(only moderate C++ & Java), though I might be able to lend minor programming assistance.
That would be nice!
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelFuck it, I'm bailing.
This means the project will probably collapse under its own weight and people won't get the chance to play and make fun of it. By the way, the green and green color scheme, SA? Fucking eye-shattering.
You guys wanna keep it up, go for it.
月を見るたび思い出せI've effectively quit too given how little time I have to do anything for this. And how little motivation I have to try anyway.
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits. To be honest, I kinda expected this from the beginning. :/
Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.
The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.It seems I have the effect of a WalkingWasteland.
Maybe I should have stayed out of the thread.
Eh, we still have the idea, so...
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI thought this would be the conclusion, given that all the work was on one programmer. That said, it was an interesting exercise in group game design and contributory narrative, so I'm thankful for the experience.
And we've always got something stored away, too.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — Watch@Maralinga: Don't feel too bad, there aren't that many people with game development capabilities in this forum.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelIt was merely meant as a neutral comment about how close the posts were together.
On top of limited capabilities, people also need to have enough free time. I know I should be getting on with making the three or four games my coursework requires* , and that's not all I have to do.
Wait, wait, waaaaaaitaminnit.
I know I may sound horribly desperate here, but...
What if we still made it, but not as a game?
It would be a kickass webcomic, I bet.
oh, that's why I need this binary mind // ⌘Which reminds me of an idea I had a while ago.
If there was ever a sequel, as impossible as that is, who says it'd have to be the same genre? <_<
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — Watch^Third-person isometric shooter/fighter hybrid?
...What?
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelTurn-based tactics! JRPG! Bullet hell! Tower defense!

Swordplay and writing blog. Purveyor of weeaboo fightin' magic.Huh?
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelAre we.... really giving up here? The trope page for this project is still saying we're kicking. Depending on your response, I might even decide to give my character a shot. Might be a wacky / squicky result, but hey, you need more thinkers
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...The whole thing was a dumb idea anyway. It's downright ridiculous that anybody thought that anything would come out of that.
I thought it was quite rational. Fighting games require few resources to produce and can easily be modular, as opposed to games that progress in environment and the like. If one's going to attempt an amateur game, it may as well be a fighting game.
Besides, it was all cool beans until only one programmer oh god.
All aside, it was a fun exercise in teamwork and collective narrative. There was focus, a lot of ideas being traded, lots of development of characters and the like. From a writing perspective, I'd call it very much worth the time.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchWhoa, harsh. :/

Pffft, I'd just slip some extra zeroes into Siegfried's damage values and you know it.
