TotalBiscuit gives a pretty good breakdown of Steam's little Christmas fiasco.

Finally dumped some more money into my Steam wallet. Picked up Circuits (75% off), Teslagrad (80% off), and Pid (80% off).
Looking to trade some of the Steam Christmas cards so that way I can craft the badge. The cards I have in my inventory are:
- 2 Santa's Workshop
- 2 Holly
- 1 Twinkle
- 2 The Black Ice Boys
- 5 Sending a Message
- 2 Taffy
- 1 You Better Watch Out (Foil)
- 3 You Better not Cry
- 4 Mystery card #11
Lemme know if you guys want to trade any spares and such for them!
...
Ok, I swear to God, if this turns out to be Half-Life 3, I will literally go around saying I'm psychic. (I called a lot of things on 2015.)

Probably just another TF 2 or Counterstrike: Global Offensive update. At this point I'm pretty sure Half-Life 3 is never going to be made.

Is there any way for Steam to count my offline hours?
#IceBearForPresidentNot worth the effort. It's really buggy in regards to successfully recording your gameplay time and unlocked achievements. It might've improved over the years but given Valve's occasionally odd or poor software decisions I doubt it.
Four years ago it would count the hours you "played" if you manually set your system clock forward while running the game, then closed the game. It'd undo these hours if you then ran the game again, set the system clock back, and then closed the game again.
It doesn't do that anymore at least. Otherwise I'd have a couple thousand hours playing DEFCON.
Half-Life Writer Marc Laidlaw Has Left Valve
Well there's another coffin in the theory that Half-Life 3 might be coming out anytime soon... or ever.
But then again, his full name has three syallbles, so... MAYBE HIS DEPARTURE IS A VIRAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN TO SIGNAL HALF-LIFE 3's RETURN?!?!
Just saw some insanity on Steam: Garfield Kart showed up while I was digging through dark fantasy games, looking for stuff similar to Darkest Dungeon. It was also tagged as an action RPG, political, and as alternate history.
Do people have a habit of troll tagging games? I requested they'd be removed and it said it would take a certain number of requests...can I just apply whatever tag I want to a game and it sticks or are there dedicated communities who decided that Garfield go-karting was the same thematic genre as Dark Souls?

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984People do things like that with certain games. I remember seeing the "psychological horror" tag have all sorts of cutesy or otherwise definitively non-horror games in it.
Steam's quickly becoming notorious for a lack of quality control. And sadly, it's because they mis-judged in thinking that both the playerbase and game designers publishing on their site would be smart and humble enough to keep the crap out; instead, they're causing it to flood in by the droves.
Steam in Germany pulls random games that are over a decade old due to being harmful to minors.
Um...why? Dark Forces really sticks out on that list...

"A buddy is a buddy no matter how nutty."So Dark Forces goes but the new Doom game is fine?
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. Why are they targeting all old titles, and none of the newer stuff? Dark Forces really sticks on out that list, because it's the least violent of the bunch by far.
Kinda getting the feeling that some Moral Guardian wannabe decided to tackle some random cause and choose to target Steam due to it's popularity.
It's Germany. Their censorship laws are a little messed up.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.God, I hate these guys. "X is harmful for minors." That's why these games aren't even sold to minors in the first place! Bloody idiots.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Looks like these games were banned years ago and never resubmitted despite looser guidelines now (or what I presume are looser guidelines, considering the most violent of games are passed uncut in Germany nowadays). For whatever reason someone got on Steam's case about them and they were removed.
"A buddy is a buddy no matter how nutty."Idiocy from German game raters, as per usual.
It's still rumors, though. I'll take it with a grain of salt until Valve confirms it.
That's why I used the word 'apparently'.

More like, "prepare to lock your wallets up until the day of reckoning"...
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!
That's awful. I don't even have a smart phone, so all my trades from here on out are going to take 3 days? Is this going to apply to market transactions too?
Edit: "Save 5% - 33% in the Community Market when you use a Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator." Great.
