Fair Cop found in: 278 articles, excluding discussions.
This title has brought 121 people to the wiki from non-search engine links since 20th FEB '09.
The usage on the page itself seems to be correct.
Just how frequently is it being misused elsewhere on the site?
A 'fair cop' is, apparently, a justified capture for wrongdoing. So it's nothing to do with the trope, but it doesn't seem like a confusing title.
It's one of those puns based on a turn of phrase.
Given I've heard fair used for both physically attractive and balanced when referring to a person, I'd like to see actual misusage count.
Fight smart, not fair. This is another one of those tropes named after a preexisting phrase, yet has nothing to do with said phrase, isn't it?
Joy.
Didn't know that - I always thought it was an EWISOTT phrase. Still a bad name for this either way, though.
So, suggestions? I'm hoping for something a little more creative then Hot Cop, which is the first obvious choice.
Edit: I just noticed three Fetish Fuel pages listed on the usage page. Uh???
Will check wicks for misuse tomorrow.

Most pages which were linked to from those ones do the same. The page was deleted, but presumably the links wren't.
Perhaps a crowner for whether or not to rename the page would be a good idea?
Checking wicks at random for misuse...
- Homicide: Life On The Street: Correct
- The Walker Papers: Correct
- The Maze Agency: X Just X, but I'll call this Correct, if the page image is any indication.
- Characters/LA Noire: Incorrect (two instances)
- YMMV/LA Noire: One part X Just X, another part Correct
- Psych: Correct
- Once Upon A Time In Mexico: X Just X example, but apparently referring to Eva Mendes' character so I'll say Correct
- Life On Mars: Correct
- Hot Teacher: Correct (though a related trope)
- TJ Hooker: Correct
- NCIS: Correct, but I'm not too thrilled about the example writeup arguing that this applies to "the entire cast."
- Hot Men at Work: Correct (another related trope)
- Pokemon: Not appearing in this article (must be a bug)
- Life: Correct
- Hello, Attorney!: Correct (related trope)
- Dark Blue: X Just X (and referring to "everyone")
- Waking The Dead: Correct
- The Glades: X Just X
- The Bill: Correct
- The Cannonball Run: Ambiguous
- Characters/The Dark Knight Saga: Leaning incorrect; X Just X example, but mentioned in reference to Lt./Commissioner Gordon, who is more known for being an honest cop than he is a sexy cop. Then again, with what some editors around here find sexy, who knows?
- Saving Grace: X Just X
- The Listener: X Just X
- Mercy: X Just X
- NYPD Blue: With a special mention made specifically for the "female detectives," I'm gonna say Correct
Out of the first 25 wicks checked, so far, there are only two clear cases of misuse (and they're both on one page) and another that is likely to be incorrect. I'll check more later, but right now I don't think there is going to be enough misuse found to merit a name change.

Bump. Low misuse. I kinda hate the name, but we can't change it if its being used correctly.
We done?
So, as best I can tell, this got its name during the time when lousy puns were in vogue as trope names. I certainly can't see any other reason why this was named what it was - "fair cop" is an existing term more or less exactly what it sounds like - a reasonable police officer. I've stumbled across several wicks to this that mistake it for the existing term. Surely we can do better?
