For clarification, do you mean the use of the meme over the wiki, or the page describing it?
If you mean the use of the meme on the wiki, we already have guidelines about using Memes. Specifically Don't.
For the page, candleJack is a hybrid Character/Meme page .

Guidelines, or rules?
I don't know, the few times I have seen the Candle You Know Who used in wiki pages, it hasn't been in an overused way, and has been for he most part relatively unobstrusive. You know... kinda like what strikethrough was.
There was one case... I think in the Offscreen Teleportation page, or something like that, that went kinda overboard because it turned into Thread Mode somehow, though.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?I'm talking about the page. It's as pointless as The Game was.
Because the ssSpoiler was turned off, the main page just need cleanup. Headscratchers is a mess though, I say cut that one.
I'll say some more tonight, RL interference.

Ok, i'm back......
I say keep the main Candle Jack page, it tells you a little bit about the meme. We do have Just For Fun pages after all.
If is's the usage that bothers you, then we could post a Message not to use this meme at all on the Wiki
SSS was replaced be white text, so its fine.
Oh! Never mind that part then.
I think this should be cut. We're here to catalogue tropes, not memes. There are plenty of other sites that do the latter. If the Candle Jack character is an example of a trope (say, Memetic Molester or something), he can go on that main page or on the work page for the work he comes from as an example of that trope.
"Well, it's a lifestyle"Move it to SelfDemonstrating/CandleJack
nuclearneo 577,I'm sure it was not.

New theme music also a boxThat sounds like a good idea.
You can look at the source code and confirm that it is indeed white text. And the page history confirms it used to be super secret spoiler, before that was removed. Not sure what your point is.
Undecided about the main page, but I agree the Headscratchers does need a chainsawing.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Please keep the headscratcher page, I (and many others) find it hilarious.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoI say axe the whole thing. It doesn't serve any point other than people forcing a joke about ten years after it stopped being funny or relevant. The Just Bugs Me page needs to be nuked from the web as a whole, despite some legitimate questions and complaints it turned into somebody being a dick and making every line into part of the meme.
If that's not too far, I dunno what is.
If you don't like it, don't go to the page. No one is forcing you to look at it.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoWhat I don't understand is why this (or any other meme) deserves a page separate from the general Memetic Mutation?
As annoying as they are, a lot of these meme-things do have "story" elements to them, and those stories have tropes, so they still fit with TV Tropes' core mission.
But as I suggested with regard to some other page (whose identity escapes me at the moment), there are plenty of places to screw around with memes on the Internet; TV Tropes isn't, or shouldn't be, one of them. To the extent we talk about them here, the "fourth wall" should be brought down, and they should be discussed AS memes, not with Self Demonstrating Articles, in-jokes, and all the other hoohah.
Jet-a-Reeno!I think that was the "killer video game" creepypasta-esque thing, the name of which currently escapes me (did we ever resolve that, by the way?). I agree that there are some memes that can be treated as stories, like The Ugly Barnacle, and I can even see a case made that that holds true for The Game - I wouldn't agree, but I can see a case being made. I don't see how this page is a work in any fashion, though, nor does it deserve to be a character page.

What I despise are the people who really like this trope, and refuse to accept you're willing to say Candle Jack and not end the sentence prematurely. The type of people who feel the need to add little hottips from Candle Jack pointing out how you're not really safe because this trope applies to everyone, haha!
It's obnoxious.
As long as it remains limited to it's own page, I really dont see any problem here.
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoYes. On its own page it's fine. Spread all over the wiki it becomes annoying - Tvtropes is not Icanhascheezburger.com.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Where else on the wiki is it?

So we cut The Game for being a meme gone too far. Seems Candle Jack is nothing but a meme that
...sorry, let me try that again.
Anyway, the Candle Jack meme is just an overdone running gag here on the wiki, just like The Game had been. Should we kill it? It serves no purpose.
