I still have The Faraway Tree books lying around somewhere, and I know I saw a Secret Seven book while rummaging through the storage area a few weeks ago.
I loved her books way hard when I was a young teen.
i. hear. a. sound.I absolutely adored her books from 6-9 years old, and still have most of them (Famous 5, Adventurous 4, Secret 7, Faraway Tree, the Secrets set etc), though I did get rid of some of the youngest aimed ones. When I was young she was probably the most popular children's author.
I have the Faraway Tree series in my house somewhere - I loved those books.
I espicially remember one story where all the children got turned into the costumes they were wearing and one got to be a fairy ^_^
"You've got your transmission and your live wire, but your circuit's dead." - MediaI think my mum also used to read Malory Towers, though I can't find the books anymore...
Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science.I loved Enid Blyton books as a kid - Malory Towers, Faraway Tree, some of the Famous Five - but I haven't really gone back to reread them since.
Possibly because, on reflection, there's some Unfortunate Implications in a lot of what she wrote. All those nasty evil foreigners...
The owner of this account is temporarily unavailable. Please leave your number and call again later.Part of the charm of reading them at later ages, I think.
Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science. Her books were some of my favourites! Anyone else read the Land of Far Beyond? I seem to be the only Enid Blyton fan who has actually heard of it.
Not Three Laws compliant. My sister used to collect her books, and then decided she didn't care anymore, so I ended up with them all. I've only read about half the ones I have, and weirdly enough, not a lot of the more famous series; my favourite was always The Naughtiest Girl is a Moniter, although I don't have any of the others in that series. I flick through them when I want some nostalgia.
I belive I have The Secret Door, somewhere in my house...

Searching for meaning in meaningsI created a page called "Enid" which is a 2009 docu drama based in her life as an author and her relationship with her family. It's a good watch if you want to know more about her.
"A Lady does not start fights but they can finish them"
Anyone familiar with her works?
Back when I had to spend long, lonely days in my late grandfather's house without the joys of internet access after my parents' divorce, I stumbled upon my mum's old Famous Five collection and ended up reading them all the time.
I have also read The Circus Series and have actually created the work page for The Secret Island...
How about you?
