That's why I don't play with vehicles. That and the fact that I'm woefully inadequate at using them effectively. I'm much better sitting off by myself somewhere and picking off people. And occasionally destroying enemy vehicles if I've decided to take armor lock in this particular spawn.

Yeah, I never make it to vehicles in time.

Except the warthog, but no one wants to seem to use the thing.sad

So I just wander around taking potshots with the DMR.grin

I hate that. It's always the Scorpion/Banshee/Wraith/Ghost*

everyone goes for, yet when I ride up with a Mongoose to pick someone up and, ya know, sneak around and hit the enemy from behind everyone just continues to run.

If it doesn't have a gun then the vehicle is just ignored.

Seeing as it is a shooter, most people probably think that.

^^ That's ironically how it is in reality. Militaries loathe unarmed vehicles. If you can't slap on a rifle caliber machine gun or better it doesn't deserve to see service.

Now that I think about it, it probably wouldn't have been too difficult to factor in at least a partial method of firing while driving the Mongoose one-handed. The scorpion basically handles the same way (look one way while driving another) and even an assault rifle to distract the enemy is better than being completely defenseless while driving.

I'm going to go to ahead and say that the Warthog is the most effective vehicle in the game if used properly. It just shreds shield and health and will rip apart Banshees and Ghosts.

The Banshee can easily take down a warthog if they know how to aim their banshee bomb. One hit and you usually get flown across the map, susceptible to plasma cannons.

Ugh, Banshees are the worst.

If one has you in its sights, you're fucked. No ifs, ands, or buts.

But if they driver knows what he's doing he can easily evade the Banshee long enough for his gunner to take it down. And I have enough experience on both sides of that fight to know that the Banshee cannot withstand sustained fire from that turret.

That said, I love the Banshee. It helps that I'm amazingly good with the thing. I like to think my skill with the vehicles makes up for my shitty, shitty, SHITTY sniping.

If you have even a tiny bit of infantry support, Scorpion, no ifs or buts. Though it is a more prone target.

Warthog is certainly up there, even if it feels too top heavy (I've actually had DMR shots roll me in various situations).

I guess the only other contenders would be the banshee or falcon, and as others have pointed out they're a bit too susceptible to getting shot down – even if you’re at the top of your game (shooting the banshee with sniper three times, and waiting for someone to get in is one of my favourite things on Spire).

The Scorpion is easy to flank however. Especially with the right armour abilities. The beaty of the Warhog is that people underestimate it. Until one spends the whole game just slaughtering you, leaving you completely unable to achieve your objective.

You know what I miss? The Scorpions on Hemmorage. It's so much less fun with Wraiths.

If your team gets 2 Wraiths at once its basically an instant win.

Even more is overkill. Literally.

I prefer the Spartan Laser to vehicles, honestly.

Most of the time they never see it comin'.evil grin

Having the sniper be truly anti-vehicular has completely made my day. Assuming I can ever get hold of one—usually only on Spire cos most people seem to not know where to find them—I usually abhor wasting shots but if there's a Banshee causing trouble I will wreck its whole day.

I'm also apparently half decent at flying the Falcon.

I cannot use the Spartan laser for shit, I'm terrible at it.

I'm great with vehicles, driving, shooting, I can pretty much dominate an entire map in a Banshee or Scorpion. It's a shame that most people are abysmal. I see far too many shitty drivers (or worse, people using Warthogs as transport) or people who take a Banshee, only to be shot down by DMR fire.

Never. There is no 'settle down, have lot's of half AI, half super soldier children' for Chief. Because a) that's not him, he's a soldier and he'll keep going until humanity has no more enemies and b) because there will always BE more enemies.

He'll eventually go insane then. Still, he's got Cortanna. That's about as close to a real life he'll ever get.

If you read The Fall Of Reach you learn Master Chief never truly "had a life".

Well, he's basically Mr. Hero, bred to save humanity from whatever force threatens it. They'll try to keep the Chief alive as long as possible through cryo.

That's what I dislike about Halo. Everyone sees the Chief as a weapon, not a human. Even if you've been raised in a military camp all your life, there has to be some instinct that tells you that this is wrong.

He's more than just "Master Chief" or "The Demon". He's John, a man who has been forced into impossible situations which he has to solve. And when it's all over, his reward is being locked up in a cryo chamber until they need him again.

I hope that they deconstruct Master Chief in this one. From what little we've seen it looks like they're going in that direction since Cortanna was calling him "John! John!" instead of "Chief! Chief!". If they are, that means that Cortanna will probably get a hefty dose of subplot about whether or not A.I.s can be human.

If they are gping to do another trilogy, a massive deconstruction is in order.

They could deconstruct Master Chief ala Jason Bourne by showing what being a bred hero sacrifices and what happens when he doesn't want it any more.

Doing that in combination with a "Stop the grave new threat!" plot would be ideal for the story.

That would indeed be very satisfying. I'd like them to portray Chief as more of an individual person.
