The picture shows a bird, clearly high in the sky with clouds behind it. If you look closer it's looking down with a slightly scared expression. The caption "as literal as it gets".

The thing is, it might be "literally" an acrophobic bird, but it doesn't illustrate the trope. It might be scared of heights, but it is flying.

Agreed. How about good old reliable Daffy?

Why doesn't he just, you know, FLY?

Caption's pulling too much weight. Daffy's a Funny Animal, so the fact that ducks are flying birds got a bit lost in the anthropomorphism.

I'm trying to find a good picture of Godzilla chasing an Airplane... this is the best I've found so far.

I'm for pulling this one. It's misleading.

Just thought I'd offer this DMFA comic.

I think it works well.

Wait how? I mean, it's a justification, but it's not actually an example.

The characters on the ground have wings. They never fly in the series. This is them explaining why they don't. Just because it's a Justified Trope doesn't mean it's not an example. And this is one of those tropes that is easier to picture when it's called out.

I'd really like a good picture from Baten Kaitos, but I doubt we'll find one. The DMFA one works.

Motion to pull

Pic is too small to get the bird's expression across, and doesn't really work for the trope since it's airborne.

I'm still good with the DMFA pic.

How about Blu from the movie Rio? It may not immediatly show this characteristic in the image (unless someone grabs a shot from that scene where he's hanging from a cliff, which would actually be a perfect example) but his fear of flying is a big part of the movie.

Well, the issue is that we really want to show the trope in action. Simply being an example doesn't make for a good image, as it means nothing to those who haven't consumed the work (it also has been known to lead to edit wars between raging fandoms). I'm not against the idea, but I'd like to see the image you suggested.

Support pull.

Not a fan of the DMFA image for this. It's a couple of characters discussing a justification of the trope, not an example of the actual trope.

I like the Daffy Duck image given. Sure, Daffy's an anthropomorphized character, but the fact remains: Ducks can fly.

Voting to pull. It looks too much like the bird's afraid of some sort of projectile hitting it.

DMFA comic is a bad image.
