Misread that as DICE the gaming company and thought for a moment what Del Toro and Kojima would do to a Battlefield game.
Oh really when?Got a feeling they'd both be out of their depth if ever assigned to produce a Battlefield game (or something of a similar FPS nature). Probably because they're better storytellers than anything else.
It probably would be a departure from the Idiot Plot or shallow plots of 3 and 4, but I don't know if the players would care unless there were unlocks tied to singleplayer.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotAgreed. The Battlefield community honestly doesn't care about the singleplayer campaign anyways (save for the Bad Company fans). If anything, Kojima working on the franchise would be treated with disdain and worry.
Now I miss Bad Company.
Oh really when?Would it be too much of an exaggeration to say that Kojima working with DICE would be like Stanley Kubrick working with Michael Bay?
Because Kojima's not exactly Hemingway but still hella great while being a weird sort of visionary (at his best), and Michael Bay is the king of over-produced spectacle in movie media today much like Call of Duty and Battlefield.
Actually, would a better example for Kojima be Quentin Tarantino? Film buff turned expert in their craft. Or maybe a Kubrickesque Tarantino hybrid. I dunno.

Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down. No, Kubrick works really good as a comparison. The guy was a perfectionist to a ridiculous (and sometimes self-depressing) degree, and he often felt that the meanings behind his works were often missed. That, and he was often willing to tackle subjects that other film makers were hesitant to approach.
Bay, on the other hand... might actually end up being a good influence on Kojima. If MGSV is any indication, Kojima has some major budget and time control issues, problems which Bay has proven to producers to be very good at handling. Their ideas and egos will no doubt clash, but if they end up discovering some synergy then holy crap are we gonna get one hell of a game!
I just had an interesting thought about Quiet.
So Code Talker rationalizes Quiet not taking the Wolbachia treatment against vocal cord parasites as her wanting to keep the possibility of having her revenge against Snake. Now, I could be wrong - maybe the wolbachia is specifically engineered to kill the vocal cord parasites and none of the others. But if it's a treatment that makes every parasite in the body unable to reproduce and thrive, then maybe Quiet refused the treatment because it'd kill the parasites keeping her alive.
The reason she is how she is is because of the parasites - her lungs are fried from the hospital in Cyprus, the whole photosynthesis thing is how she breathes and eats. If they die, she dies. So if the wolbachia kills them off, than the treatment would kill her.
Instead of being a reluctant but conflicted WMD, maybe she refused the treatment out of necessity instead of keeping the chance of revenge alive.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down. That's my theory as well, because it's the only logical explanation as to why she she'd stick around despite all the abuse from Miller and the Diamond Dogs staff. Plus, if it was only the potential for vengeance that kept her from taking the treatment, then why run away and willingly get captured by the Soviets? It's a pretty clear indication that she was feeling repentant on a certain level. That's not something a person willing to potentially wipe out the English language out of spite would consider.
Another, more pragmatic theory is that due to how bizarre and dangerous her physiology now is, Quiet realized Mother Base is arguably the only place on the entire planet where she knows she'd be safe and at least partially accepted... until they figured out she has the English parasite. She ran away for her own personal safety, but it wasn't something she planned out very well hence why she got caught.
Never mind.

To be fair, the handgun that I believe he is referring to (kampfpistole) is really fucking OP in Outer Ops.
