I still have managed to retain a vague interest in TV Tropes. As such, I've noticed that there is a large number of articles on the wiki that are not, strictly speaking, tropes.

According to Meriam-Webster:

Trope: 1 a : a word or expression used in a figurative sense : figure of speech b : a common or overused theme or device : cliché <the usual horror movie tropes> 2 : a phrase or verse added as an embellishment or interpolation to the sung parts of the Mass in the Middle Ages

With similar definitions to be found elsewhere. As such, do these really need to be here in their current form?

Don't need to be here because they aren't themes or devices:

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RickRoll https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Pettanko

Poorly named, generally with gratuitous Japeneese making it useless for people who aren't obsessed with this wiki: (Alternitavely, they require reading the page to have an idea of what they mean) https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Nakama https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ZettaiRyouiki - Hell, even "Absolute Territory" would be an improvement. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BrownNote https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Tsundere

Need to be reworked. There's a fundamental flaw, such as removing any chance for criticism. Without criticism, a work can't improve, and a real fan of something is able to challenge something while still praising and enjoying it.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SomethingAwful - Sort of. It's got a large amount of incorrect and outdated information. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ElGoonishShive - No criticism at all?

Of course this list is open to improvement, and is far from comprehensive. Any legitimate criticism to help improve it would be great!

Yeah, not all of our articles are tropes. We have works, audience reactions, just-for-fun pages, discussion pages...

Can we have a lock over here?

Seriously, what you are saying is like saying that MTV has to go back to music videos, which it isn't going to. Plus, some of the non-tropes you said are actually tropes. For example, Pettanko is an appearance trope.

Also, the whole Japanese agrument is going to make CHOPSTICKS rear its head on you. We have redirects. And how is Brown Note a Japanese name?

Actually, I'll like to hear your defense before I press the holler button, or before a mod spots this.
