Relapse isn't always a bad thing: Secret Mutant Hero Team

Redirects Are Free, if there's a problem in the order of the names we could just make a redirect at Teenage Robot Samurai Wombats, and if we're dropping Radioactive from the name (which we haven't come to consensus that we're going to do yet) honestly I only see Robot and Samurai as having major order confusion issues, and even then not really.

'Immature Radioactive Samurai Slugs' (from Tiny Tunes, I think) is the way to go — doesn't recycle 'Teenage'.

I have a question. One of the main problems is that people are putting X Men teams in as examples, but doesn't the X Men themselves qualify as a Ur-Example of the trope or as being an Unbuilt Trope of this?

Okay, history time! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the Trope Maker for this thing, but the original Mirage Comic was made as a parody of Marvel Comics at the time... Mainly taking Teenage & Mutant from the X Men and Ninja from Daredevil and making them turtles because that would be the most ridiculous creature for a fast and stealthy ninja. While most of it draws itself from Daredevil, some things like the Leonardo & Raphael dynamic is drawn from the how Cyclops and Wolverine interacted.

I am just curious about why the X Men wouldn't fit as either the Ur-Example or as being the result of an Unbuilt Trope.

Because its specifically about growing from the Ninja Turtles formula.

Some trivia about how the old X-men and teams based off of them sort of resemble this trope because the Turtles do to the turtle's origins wouldn't be harmful though. That's good application of Unbuilt Trope.

Incidentally, if this is a Fountain of Expies trope, it should probably be listed on Fountain of Expies.

x4 The X-men way back when they started had a very similar format that just decayed over time.

x3 You are correct. The X Men were a secret team of outsiders to humanity. The only real difference I see between them and other Secret Mutant Hero Teams is that they could actually blend in to human society, but then that was the entire point of known mutants being treated as outsiders. They could be anyone.

TRS Threads are not locked until the work is done. Just coming to a consensus doesn't change anything, which means the problem still exists. So stop Hollering for a lock on unfinished threads.

I'm calling the crowner at 9-0 in favor of Teenage Mutant Samurai Wombats.

• The Main Page needs to be moved to the new name, and the old name made a redirect.
• The associated pages need to be moved. That would be the Quotes page and The Image Links page. There is no discussion, so that doesn't need to be done.
• The wicks need to be corrected. All 33 of them.
• The 7 wicks that go to the current redirect, Radioactive Teenage Samurai Robot Wombats also need to be corrected.
• It needs to be added to Renamed Tropes.
