Discussion of religion in the context of LGBTQ+ rights is only allowed in the LGBTQ+ Rights and Religion Thread.
Discussion of religion in any other context is off topic in all of the "LGBTQ+ rights..." threads.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Well, it's comforting to know Blount County, Tennessee will be spared the coming Apocalypse. Good ol' Blount County, Tennessee. Gosh, what ever would we do without them and their great contributions to the human race?
I don't get why they're so worried about "legalizing what God and the Bible expressly forbids". Shellfish has been legal for years and he hasn't done shit.
There's a distinct lack of hurricanes in Scarborough for that to be true.
But that's completely different. Shellfish is a staple of the southern economy, especially along the gulf coast. How are we supposed to make money off of people falling in love? It's not like we can sell them cakes or take photographs or something.
Wow. That is some hardcore Establishment Clause violation they got going there. I guess Blount County hates America and freedom. Does anyone have anything on their stance on apple pie?
using Sodom and Gomorrah as an example of begging for mercy? Instead of trying to be, and look for good people to save the city?
I wonder what would happen if these people actually read the bible instead of just nitpicking bits of it
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesA major increase in animal sacrifices?
And public stonings!
They might actually have to find out why Sodom and Gomorrah were so bad. How are they supposed to feel smugly superior if they need to help the poor and needy rather than just not marry gay people?
I like how they go with the Genesis interpretation which seems to condemn homosexuality but give a shrug to drunken familial relations without consent. Which is generally considered worse.
Oh, the best part is that when God inevitably fails to smite the U.S. over legalization of same-sex marriage, they can say it's not because God's cool with gays, it's because despite their wicked, sinful way of living, the hard work of the Blount County faithful has spared our nation from His wrath. The gays should be grateful that the people of Blount County have got their back.
I can't speak for whether someone believes that, but I have heard earthquakes blamed on women's attire so I wouldn't be surprised.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3....Has there ever been a documented case of a cis man (let's be honest - (cis) people are a lot more afraid of trans women than trans men) claiming to be a trans woman to peep in a restroom? Ever?

♭What.According to any of the states that have had transgender bathroom laws, even the ones that have had them since 90s, no.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianI'm not going to deny that, theoretically, it may have happened at some point but if it was a widespread thing I'm sure we'd have concrete evidence.
Here is a source debunking the bathroom myth.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianIf I understand the story correctly, I may finally have found an NFL team worth following.

I'm going to guess he didn't understand the story correctly.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)To be fair that was the most poorly written news article I've seen this year.
Well basically, I think like most people, I assumed she was lying when the story first came out, but then when the Vatican started confirming it, I thought briefly that maybe there was a "secret meeting" and the Vatican was trying to cover it up/down play it.
But I think Occam's Razor supports the original conclusion that Davis is lying.
