Ah, I didn't know such a thread existed.

But yeah animations could use some work, hope they clean them up. Also not keen on the artstyle thus far, really lacks personality compared to games past. At least the gameplay speed is on par with XIII.

Yes, but... Why "quantity over quality"? We haven't seen any sure signs that graphical/gameplay quality has been sacrificed for quantity of characters.

I'm not a fan of the quality of the character models nor the animation, and neither are many other fans from what I've gathered.

But I'll concede funding is tight more likely than not and with King and Angel already confirmed it looks like the roster's gonna be diverse enough to make up for it.

At least they're trying to assembler a kickass roster that won't disappoint. Hard to be ungrateful with 50 characters.

I'll grant that the graphics aren't... exactly high-tech, but they're passable, and so long as the gameplay's good, it shouldn't really matter to most fans of the series.

That said, if the series wants to try and get a larger audience, it's going to need state-of-the-art graphics if it really wants to compete, and I actually think that XIII does a better job in that regard. But again, gameplay is what's important, and think that using lower-tech 3D graphics is how they're upping the roster size as well.

Tbh it was expected. No fighting game outside of Xrd looks particularity amazing. And this isn't exactly a group who has a great history with 3D visuals. All will be fine if the gameplay turns out good, which I'm sure it will.

And I think we're entering a shift where people now know about competitive fighters and are intrigued by them. And Ko F has always been one of the best at being that.

Maybe you're happy, but I'm still waiting for Heavy D to make his grand return to the series. He's actually one of my favorite characters in the franchise, come to think of it.

Yeah, I would also like if Jenet as well as Alba, Soiree, Luise, Ninon and some of the other Maximum Impact characters Camé back. They introduced me to Ko F, but we can't havê everything I guess.

Ninon reminds me though... Just how long is SNK gonna keep up that thing about them not using Rock in the main Maximum Impact séries for? I am pretty sure that's been a regular fan request given he is the protagonist of Garou and stuff.

I'm kind of hoping her assets are done justice in 3D. I would love to see Whip back though.

Any comparison pics for those like me who are curious about the issue but don't know enough to know which sprites should be used for the comparison? (Someone ought to make a character design evolution chart like the one used for Chun-Li and her "Thunder Thighs".)

To anyone interested, here's a rumored roster leak that's been around for a couple of months now:

Of course, it's too early at this point to know whether or not this list is accurate, but all of the 10 characters revealed so far have been on the list, and while many of the revealed characters were almost guaranteed in any case, I don't think anyone saw Angel coming, so it's possible that this list is legit after all. It at least might give some people an idea of what to expect from here on out, if nothing else.

EDIT: Also, according to this, the game will feature '...a plethora of returning characters as well as newcomers...', which falls in line with the 10 or so new characters featured in the rumored roster list.

There’s some dispute on the translation for that list though, some names are mangled, the Kim’s Wife bit is one of the major sources of dispute, some say that actually means “Kim’s Master Wife”, his Master’s Wife, not Kim’s actual wife.

Well, now that you say that and that I tried translating the kanji... where did the list come from? Some of the kanji provided in the post seem to be archaic ones (especially the ones denoting descriptive titles rather than names, e.g. Kim's Master), making me think that perhaps someone mistook some kanji for others.
