I have a lot of respect for Takei's response. Either of them being a liar would be terrible, and I hope they can talk to each other and get a better picture of what really did or didn't happen.

At this point I don't know what to think about any of them, but I found the "No this has to be false because I like them too much for it to be true" annoying enough when it broke for Saville.

Takei did an interview on Howard Stern's show last month that's pretty damning in retrospect.

I don't want it to be true, but I'm inclined to believe it.

Aaand I'm back at the changing rooms part of con-prep again. Since the costume I'm going to be wearing this time is a little more involved than my last one so can't just hide most of it under my clothes and throw on the rest in a corner when I get to the venue.

Then again maybe I can get away with just putting a jacket over the top and changing my shoes and throwing on my wig and accessories when I get there. I'm really not sure. I just look forward to the day I can actually feel passable enough to use female-gendered areas like that.

I know it might feel weird to wear it outside but if it's a busy con there may be a fair number of people approaching in cosplay. Last time I went to a con I had no idea how to get there so just followed the cosplayers. Half-changing (Eg: a jacket, shoes) may be a good solution.

I don't have to go far, so I think that should work.

Yeah, depending on how big the con is it’s entierly possible to just end up with people wondering around in full costume in the vague area of the con.

As for the paranoia and stuff DBL, I’d suggest talking to your GP about it, they may be able to get you a referral to a specialist that can help you work though or manage those issues.

I think calling it paranoia was probably me exaggerating in a way that will earn the ire of people who do have to deal with the real thing. What it is is more likely the manifestation of the same anxiety issues which I have previously gone through CBT for and evidently am not using the techniques I was taught properly.

And that is before the issue of whether having mental health stuff on my record will cause issues when I do get to the GIC.

Call it paranoia, anxiety or something else, it’s clearly a health issues that’s causing you trouble, it would be a good idea to talk to your GP about it.

Also I’d hope that having had treated for issues wouldn’t impact you ability to get surgery, having anxiety and other mental health issues due to being forced to not live as who you are, falls under the “Yeah, no shit” category from where I’m sitting.

We finally find out the results of the postal survey tomorrow. Please let the yes vote win, I don't wanna be years behind the rest of the world for any longer.

Which is a non-binding poll as I understand. Getting the temperature of the electorate.

The people may support it, but it's the lawmakers that have the power to actually go through with the legalization of same-sex marriage. Don't know too much about Australian politics, but I'll hope that their politicians won't resist it as much as Americans have.

OK so it's the Yes, I was thinking of. That makes sense as it's the one relevant to the thread, hopefully they'll pay attention to it.

Looking at a news article, it seems the vote is to allow the legislature to talk about passing some kind of legislation in that direction.

Yeah they can still choose to ignore it.

I've called the doctor's surgery. Just waiting for the doctor to phone back for a phone consultation...

My GP's called back and said he won't prescribe me my hormones until he's spoken to his colleagues.

Which apparently won't happen until next week. FFS.
