Nope, he just has press attention and that of the Tea Party, many outside of those people utterly hate him.
There's actually a very real set of Republicans on the far right who outright loathe him, and a bigger set of reasonable Republicans who while either Libertarian or simply conservative think he's utterly batshit.

Don't get me wrong, I love Carlos. And I still love my ex, as much as you're allowed to love your ex. But hearing that thing he has with Cecil just makes me...ugh. Mope. Things didn't work out with me and that last guy, but that had a lot to do with me being housetrapped.
I still think I should move out of this town. I put off going to Austin this weekend because it's Memorial Day weekend, which means that I have to start planning hard to get over there next weekend.
Hotel, sight-seeing, night-planning...so much to do. All for my emotional sake.
