Well, Cygan was wondering why there wasn't one, so I made it. I guess we can talk about queer stuff. :3
(*LGBTQ+ Solidarity huggles*)
Oh, and if you're wondering, non-queer folks are welcome too.

It says you're normal. Lots of guys generally find a mating partner that is somewhat similar to their mother. Its not common, but its not exactly abnormal.
Source: Psychology degree
@Muk Who doesn't. How absurd!
@guy I minored in psychology and I don't remember them telling me THAT.
I remember something about the Oedipus Complex and the Elektra Complex, but I seem to recall you thinking that Freud was a crock.
Isn't the whole Oedipus complex thing kinda bullshit, though?
I mean, it's Freud. He was so dumb.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Freud is a bit of a crock, yeah. I distinctly remember being told this in my Human Relationships topic.
Well, my girlfriend sure as hell has nuffink in common with my mother. I call bullshit... oh, wait. Freud. Of course .
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Freud is about as important to psychology as von Mises is to economics - both had points and ideas but both rejected any sort of empirical testing, and offered ideas which couldn't really be tested.
Both did though contribute some ideas which got later used by others and tested - von Mises for example had the state calculation problem which basically said that prices could never be known, only decided, by a state in a command economy. While the implications made by himself got rejected, the idea is generally accepted by many sorts.
"Did you expect somebody else?"I just have a thing for smart and confident brunettes. Though I've seen hardly any where I live.
Guys can have any hair color and any kind of intelligence just so long as they're nice.
Either way though I really have to date more. ;p
Rachel:What about Jung?
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Some of Jung's ideas were hard to verify but it did at least happen with some of them - and some of his work was expanded on later by others.
Lots of it though came to be regarded as pseudoscience at best, although some other ideas he had did get used in sociology and anthropology.
"Did you expect somebody else?"I do know that a popular part of Jungian theory is his typologies (upon which the MBTI are based) which he noted in the book he put forward his typological theory that there was no empirical evidence on and that it's solely anecdotal experience.
>MBTI
>Hahahahahaha
I am so sick of hearing about the MBTI. It's like astrology for the slightly-less-credulous.

Rachel: I am curious now.
What are some notable sociology and psychology authors whose theories and ideas were generally held as solid?

"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Some people want to burn down Memories Pizza because of their refusing to cater to gay weddings.
I will now bang my head on my desk and hopefully I will get amnesia so I won't have to know of the implications this will cause.
...
Well I didn't get amnesia.
dead devotionBurning down homophobic businesses seems perfectly reasonable to me.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."But not before infecting the owners with the gay virus and watching them slowly turn buttfuck.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Uh no. You don't burn a mom and pop pizzeria to the ground because they don't cater to gay weddings. That will hurt the image of LGBT persons in the long run.
Who would eat pizza at a wedding, anyway?
dead devotionI was joking.
I do think boycotting that place is perfectly fair, though.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I would. Because my marriage would entail only two people, and we'd stay at home and eat pizza and have noncishetnormative sex all day .
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. That's the thing. There are plenty of ways to combat this that don't involve a potential jail sentence. Hurt them with your money, not with fire.
Uuuuuuuuuuuugh these fucking people.

dead devotionYou mean people who are justifiably frustrated about the longstanding culture of homophobia in this country, and are probably simply venting their frustration and don't actually want to burn that place down?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Just saw this on Facebook:
"A black man shoudn't be forced to make a cake for the KKK and a Christian shouldn't be forced to make one for a gay wedding."
I have no words.
Actually, I do, and I commented on it:
"Usually I ignore this stuff, but, um, two things:
- Being black is something you're born with, not a religion or a personal choice.
- The KKK is an extremist organization based on bigotry and racism with countless documented hate crimes.
This comparison is incredibly offensive on numerous levels."
I mean the people that do want it to burn.
dead devotionI'm sure that number is a lot smaller than you think.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
You want to fuck yourself?
