Ignore the comments, it makes everyone happier.
But seriously, if we actually get to play this game it'd be an interesting take on America being the villain. In global politics, no one's the good guy and it'll be a refreshing change to see other countries at war in fiction, especially videogames. Here's to the hope that we get to play it.

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.I agree. No one is 'clean' in United Nations, and from the looks of things, America is definitely not the nicest 'World Police' there is. Ignoring the comments can go a long way, and I do hope to be able to experience what tale this game can tell
Also, from history alone, China was ganged up on by eight nations. Should've been damn time for this kind of theme to be explored

What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...But we're dicks and dicks fuck assholes, so of course we're not the cleanest nation around it. We have to go into some pretty dirty places.

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.I'd wait for Jack Thompson to start waving his patriotic flag and accuse them of conspiring against America.
"Liar liar on the wall, give the world to me..."Can't people just count this as an aversion of No Campaign for the Wicked?
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Tropers can. Everyone else... not so much, I'm afraid.

Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Does the game use realistic balance, though? ( on average require several dozen "respawns" to kill a single American soldier )
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.com^^^Isn't that kind of implying that USA are good guys automatically? I mean, are Chinese supposed to want to believe that they are "evil"?...
I was disappointed to never play a FPS from the German perspective of WWII.
By the end, the Germans were desperately trying to defend their home turf. Would make for quite an experience. And it's not like other forms of media have ignored that perspective, either.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchIndeed, there are dozens of RTS and TBS examples of the Axis side of things (with an RPG element thrown in for good measure in Silent Storm), but no FPS ones =)
After playing Homefront I considered what would a Battlefield Bad Company-like story would feel like if inverted, with the USA taking the MUCH MORE LOGICAL role of the agressor and Russia the agressee. I realized that this could be the Spiritual Successor to Freedom Fighters we've all been gleefully waiting for for so long, but that no publisher in the world would have the balls to publish it =)
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Nice, something to break the whole America saves day is a win win to me, I just tired of play for the same nation
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/I feel this way too.
What about a WWI game where you play Germany? It's an era that gets almost no love (to my knowledge) and it avoids any hint of Nazis. Unless of course you play a young Hitler in the campaign. Bonus points if you don't even realize that's the case until the end of the game!
Everyone was guilty in WWI. There was no real reason to go to war other than that they wanted to go to war.
Problem with a WWI game is that it's basically all camping...
I don't really want to play as the Chinese. I'm sorry, but their government ARE bad guys. Mobile execution vans aren't exactly a way to sell yourself as a good guy.
I do,however, want to play as someone other than America. Good guy Russians or the British SAS would be cool. Don't want to play as the French. No offense, but those guys have a bad habit of losing ever since Napolean was defeated.
I'd like to play the Russians. And who says Napoleon can't come back as a zombie?
What if we played Canada as they dropped the "friendly and peaceful" ruse and invaded America for their syrup? They could attack with hockey equipment and it would all be cel-shaded, for comedic effect

That would be fun. I can see myself wacking people with a hockey stick. Plus it would be cool to play as the Mounties.
Honestly, i'm perfectly willing to play as any nation gunning down any other nation. It's just a game, and while my somewhat misplaced patriotism does swell a bit whenever i track down a WWII shooter that actually lets you to play as a canadian soldier i'm fully prepared to gun the canadians down if it's ever a mission objective
But i won't be playing the Glorious Mission if it ever makes its way over here. Because let's face it. It probably kinda sucks.
A game can still be good if it has you control the "bad guys." Just look at Grand Theft Auto. I agree that WWI wouldn't work as an FPS. It was mostly trench warfare, and most battles were stalemates. It might work as an RTS.
I dislike most FPS's, so chances are I probably won't get this game if it's localized; especially if it's another Call of Duty clone.

I would love a Canadian Mounty FPS
Why is a lot of people automatically assuming that the FPS that lets you play as a nation that isn't america a Villain Shoes type of game.
Are people just bitter that america is so deep in dept to china?
Although even if this is interesting, it'll bore me anyways...it takes a lot for an FPS to entertain me...so unless the character you play as happens to be a monkey wielding a golden staff...it'll probably be as boring as Modern Duty or Call Of Honor.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Well, China's government is bad. Don't get that confused. Those are Villain Shoes.
However, not all countries are. Like I said, playing as the SAS would be really cool.
China's government is annoying with their censorship and other antics.
But they're anything but bad(as in evil?).
Have you paid attention to the governments in most other countries?...of course, that would be getting into Flame Bait -y material. So let's not.
This is where something called Values Dissonance comes in.
Having different values from you=/=bad. Running things differently than your government=/=bad.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I'm betting there's a flame war in the comments over idiots with Culture Cringe trying to jerk off to China and rednecks convinced this is WARRRR
Also, ARMA II, Operation Flashpoint, and Battlefield 2 allowed you to fight against American forces as Russians or Chinese. Hell, Mercenaries 2 had China as the good guys where America was typical Eagleland flavor 2!
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gud
The Glorious Mission
I was wondering when a game like this would be made. An FPS that pits you not against Russia, N. Korea, or some fictional Arabic country but instead against America as a Chinese soldier. Not sure if it's portraying them invading our turf, but given that most games tend to portray the protagonists as defenders it wouldn't surprise me if the fiction has America as the aggressor.
If the trailers are anything to go by, it looks like they're trying to go for the Call of Duty feel, with scripted events/paths, set-piece moments, and the like - though the graphics definately leave something to be desired. I honestly wouldn't mind playing it if gets ported, cause I have to admit that I'm curious as to how good the game is.
The article itself is thankfully rather objective. Although there is a slight hint of negativism in how it's written (he claims that it's a military propaganda tool), the writer admits that there are games in America that have similar premises (Homefront, Operation Flashpoint, Battlefield 2), nor is it likely that the game is going to cause any explosion in Anti-American sentiments.
Sadly, the idiocy is not in the article itself, but rather the commenters - already there's about three or four posts that claim the game is definite proof that China is trying to prep their population for war against us.
