I mean, what's the point of curating a page if it's cut for want of curation? Or, coversely, when we had that huge thread and it ended up with the decision that some pages would be kept if curated, why is that not being followed?
There are seven red links among the Troper Tales pages I have on my watchlist. Why should I bother with the remaining seven? For all I know they're only going to be cut anyway.
The child is father to the man —OedipusGood question, and I don't have a good answer. But that's the fun of a wiki, its right hand doesn't necessarily know what its left hand is up to. If we had a more prominent way to identify a page's curator, that might help.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The pages in question?
One of the ones I curate was posted up for cutting. I made a comment that I cleaned it up and was keeping it clean and it was spared.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAgain, it would really help if you'd link to the page in question.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickFor some reason, I hadn't encountered any problem with my watched pages (Badass Bystander and Author Appeal), even though the latter should be a creepy magnet.
Erm, you volunteered to curate it back in February and didn't clean it until May. I assume whoever nominated it for the cutlist assumed you abandoned it.
I think "do not put yourself into this page" on the former might have something to do with that.

By the way, is there a tool that lets you see which pages are being watched and how many people are watching it? It would be useful for assigning curators.
Eddie could probably gin one up but there's nothing available currently, and there's some question of what value it would provide — for example, people could look for less-curated pages to vandalize.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"No, and Eddie said that there never will be since it lets trolls know what pages they can hit without being noticed.
Yeah, I was trying to get permission to cut people adding themselves and it took a bit. It got cleaned though. There are ways to save them if you pay attention.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYou could have simply linked to the crowner where people agreed to keep it if the examples were restricted to roleplays and the like.
But eh, it's been cleaned, and that's the important thing.
Found out about this today:
Really NSFW.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Right Through The Wall, Naked Apron, Sex Dressed, Troper Tales/Sexiled, Shower Of Love, Smoking Hot Sex, Thanks For The Mammary, and Casual Kink, are all risque as well. Just to be aware.

I have not yet seen an explanation, aside from assertion and borderline concern trolling, of why any TT page that is at all sexual should be cut entirely.
The child is father to the man —OedipusEr, because we are not a site that is interested in hosting written porn?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Where?
edit: Fighteer, you may wish to edit the Troper Tales Guidelines to make the fact that sexual stuff isn't allowed more clear. As it currently stands "creepy" is a bit subjective, though the following sentence helps.

Yes, take out the word "creepy" unless you really do mean to restrict it to creepy stuff and aren't just reflecting a bias. I'll accept that incest and pedophilia(/hebephilia/ephebophilia) don't belong, I suppose I can see how fetishes might be objectionable to some, but if you say "creepy sexual stuff" people who don't share that perspective might assume there's some that isn't considered creepy.
The concern trolling is people insisting that the reason no one on the Internet like TV Tropes is because some tropers have sex sometimes.

The child is father to the man —OedipusKeeping people from indulging themselves =/= Sex Is Evil
People who dislike sex-related Troper Tales and people who are part of the site's userbase are not mutually exclusive.
In addition, I don't think anyone said that "no one on the internet likes TV Tropes" because of these pages.

Nonetheless, the fact that the page says "creepy sexual stuff" misleads people into thinking that the people who make these decisions consider some sexual stuff non-creepy, and the non-creepy sexual stuff is permitted.

I really don't think this should even exist. Just leads to too much trouble.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific Mackerel^ I went through it a few weeks ago, and as my edit then, all of the examples were correct. People may have added/re-added bad examples though.
You can cutlist it if you want, I guess.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”
You do this for recognition? I guess everyone has their individual motivations but that's not really supposed to be one of them. Anyway, thank you for everything you have done and will do to keep Troper Tales clean.
