Heh, I did the Land of the Livid Dead first too. :P
Glad I'm not the only one who had trouble with momentum on the crusher walls. The rest of MNM was... well, not easy, but less irritating, at least. The bit with the sawblades was irritating, but once I got the pattern down, no big. And the room with the big gears was a downright Breather Level. Area. Whatever.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaHey, anyone remember how the PS Vita version of RO was advertised as having mosaics that would help explain the origins of Rayman's world? Welp, in the game, there are only two mosiacs. The first one showed off how Globox became blue, and the second one, well...(Starts at 4:05):

It can't just be me that thinks that's one of the dumbest things I've seen. I thought the Nymphs created Rayman? With hair already on him!
I'm not all that familiar with Rayman continuity, but I think I'll declare that discontinuity if it's even supposed to be taken seriously.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."The guy's narration was funnier than the mosaic XD I love the Space Whale Aesop that maybe hair isn't so bad after all if ti saves your life.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Yeah, it certainly takes a wrench to what little continuity the Rayman series actually has. Not only has Rayman had/have a lover, but she's a limbless, when I thought that Rayman was the only limbless.
I can't help but wonder if Rayman's wife/girlfriend is the same raygirl that was supposed to be in Rayman 4 before it became Raving Rabbids.
I blame it on the Bubble Dreamer taking too much plum juice.
This game was already hard up for continuity anyway.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaWell yeah. I mean I've played Rayman 2 and 3 and found them very different games. The characters are the same, and maybe the setting but the tones are completely different as are the stories.
You could probably make a case for them taking place in completely different universes.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."I personally believe that Rayman's origin will never be truly explained, kinda like a heroic limbless Joker.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Even the "Characters" bit is kind of stretching it. Mr. Dark, the Magician, and Betilla never appeared outside of the first game, and Globox, Murfy, Clark, Sssam, et al just kind of popped into being in the second game.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaAh I see. Having jumped in at 2, I just assumed that characters implied to have a history, actually had a history
I think this just reinforces my point that they're not regular sequels and may in fact all be different continuities (I've never played a rabbids game, but I assume they are even less connected).
Different retellings of the same legend anyone?
Origins does explicitly reference 3 at one point, though. And it was also planned to have a reference to 2 in the form of Globox's wife Uglette being playable. Didn't happen, though.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaTarayzan was also planned as an unlockable skin, along with a Robot Teensie skin that would have made the Bubble Dreamer make a referance to the Robot Pirate invasion in Rayman 2.
Since my graphics card sucks it's own dick, and all i have is the Nintendo Wii and a 3DS, i pray to God that the Thirds Port is decent. Cause, damn, does this game look gorgeous.

If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked. This game is available for the Wii, too, mon.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I know, but who doesn't love the thought of having one of the most beautiful platformers of the current generation, at the palm of your hand?
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked.Because it looks so much more beautiful on the big screen
I agree with both of you. It's really cool to have it in portable form, but it looks really pretty on the big screen.
Wow though, I wasn't expecting this to have a Bullet Hell segment. I mean the Moquito part with the fireballs in the first level of Luscious Lakes.
You know, now that I've unlocked those additional levels to established locations it seems like collection Lums has gotten easier. The difficulty of the levels has gotten higher sure, but with the slight completionist tendencies this game has given me I seem to be coming away with over the medal number of lums on my first go (not without deaths though, I must say).
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."There was one stage in Ticklish Temples where I came away with like 400 Lums. It was pretty crazy.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI got Origins for the Wii... I was sad. I felt like i didn't deserve it. The game's friggin rad, and the beautiful art style is only one of the reasons!
If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked.Trust me, everyone deserves Origins. :D
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThis game will make even the most crusty of curmudgeons smile.
@Komo: Methinks you've never played it, I see.
Unless they're crusty curmudgeons who get frustrated easily. It is kinda difficult, after all.

That was one of their best skits alongside the Internet one. Truly a work of magic. The fact that they used the original Mr. Dark design (and the red lum sound effect from Rayman 2 for those paying attention) really goes to show the crew for this skit care for the source material.
