"Oh." Aki said, not quite sure where this was going. No-one had asked her anything like that. At least, not straight away. No-one had really tried talked to her aside from Beryl, and she suspected that Beryl didn't count. When they had they'd usually tried to talk about something innocuous, like the weather. Or about themselves. People liked to do that. Conversation wasn't something that really happened to the girl, and when it did it wasn't usually this direct. She wasn't entirely sure if she liked it or not. It was simpler, at least. "Um, okay"

There was another silence, in which it dawned on the girl that she also wasn't entirely sure where to begin. The City, she guessed, but not too far back. This was different to talking to Beryl. She wasn't sure she wanted the brown haired girl to know anything further than that. She seemed friendly enough, but they hadn't really so much as looked at each-other before now. Maybe if didn't mention anything she wouldn't ask questions.

"I... I was in the Ci- the social experiment that the blue hair- Sixes, I mean. The social experiment that Sixes ran. It was a long time ago. I was younger, and I didn't have any, um. You know. Any parents. I was alone back then. I think I must have been quite scared. Um, that's when I met Cain. He, um, took me in. Made it so I wasn't alone. Um, or as scared. We travelled in his tank for a while, and when we had to leave he took me back to the Imperium. He bought me this coa- um, he bought me what this coat was before got onto the water. He makes me feel less scared. Safer, I mean, and I think more secure. If that's a thing."

She stopped, and looked Minako in the face. Not the eyes. Never the eyes.

"Sixes tried to kill him."

Setzer finally came strolling on into Jenny's band, wiping his mouth off and spitting. He also carried an indescribable odor.

"Awfully sorry I'm late. I fell into what may or may not have been a pool of...Agricultural waste products. I also had to dig my wallet out of there, but I've been through worse. You're going to have to put up with it until I find a shower and some good cologne."

He looked at Hayate, and smiled.

"Ahh, another new recruit, already? Well, welcome aboard. If you can handle yourself well and travel, you'll have no problems. And don't even think about jumping from one object floating in the water to another."

He turned his glance to the yeti-like creature, but didn't say anything.

Apparently this is a flashback now.

"I can heal it myself, I think..." Raspberyl winced as appreciatively as she could manage as May moved over toward her. It hadn't occurred to her just how often her shoulder blades were used for even slight movements, and she had begun to question the advantage of having appendages which were so fragile. While the long-term benefits were obvious, they only actually applied to people who managed not to break anything until they had grown up, and Raspberyl was beginning to suspect that these were benefits she would never be able to see.

"I just...need you to take the bandages off, then put them back on after I heal it." she explained, fumbling with the top button of the ruffled blouse she was wearing underneath her blue coat. Doing anything without moving her left arm was proving to be an overly-difficult exercise in her own waning patience.

"...Also...could you just...tell me if it looks okay? I haven't seen how bad it is yet." Raspberyl requested nervously. Once May had removed any clothing covering the bandages

wrapped around Raspberyl's chest, the Delinquent shied away very slightly out of impulse, though not out of any sort of embarrassment. While certainly not the most comfortable of situations for either of them, the demon girl had easily squelched any modesty-borne reservations regarding receiving first aid from May. In truth, this had more to do with her current injured state than the fear of being seen in any sort of state of undress. While she trusted May just a bit more than one might expect to be trusted after just a week, and despite the fact that this had been her own request, Raspberyl was still about to allow someone near her dislocated wing joint. For all she knew, one careless touch could cause irreversible damage . If she were to be completely honest with herself, Raspberyl felt exceedingly vulnerable, and she didn't like that feeling one bit.

"...Be careful, okay?" Raspberyl slowly moved herself back into the position she'd just been in, bracing for the inevitable pain cause by the snugly-wrapped bandages being undone.

Once the bindings were off, May would immediately see that the wing had been gently folded and tucked flat against Raspberyl's back, the joint still bent at an impossible angle. The joint itself was easily identifiable by the freshly-torn skin directly around it, previously marked with dried blood

, which was no longer dry at all. If May had ever seen an injured wing before, she would likely already be able to see just how serious this injury was, and even a total lack of knowledge regarding normally-avian anatomy would provide her with enough information to make an educated guess. Swallowing dryly as she felt a few trickles of blood cascade down her back, Raspberyl immediately feared the worst. May would be able to feel her take a deep breath before she spoke, managing to sound leagues less frightened than she actually was.

"...I fell on it when I saved Kirby from that huge sea monster. Does it...um, how is it...?"

After tossing the aquamorph back into the ocean and seeing it swim off, Oswald put his hands on his hips, feeling triumphant in helping what basically was a drowning fish back into the sea. Man, its great to have this feeling again, he thought.

The rabbit then looked into the direction Jenny pointed towards. "Oh boy," Oswald said. "Jungles are usually NEVER this quiet. There's a good chance something really bad is in there. Just hope its only those fish things in the bubbles that's spooking all the animals....."

And then Setzer approached the group. Though he noticed the smell first before actually seeing the gambler. "Agricultural waste my fluffy tail!" the rabbit commented, his voice high pitched through pinching his noice. "Smells like you've trudged through a septic transport or something!" Oswald pulled his shirt up over his face to help block out the smell.

The captain felt a similar wave of anger after Jim explained with rage that the map was worth as much as a doorstep for him. “That is the map I lost my ship and most of my crew for!? I thought was some kind of treasure map or some way out of this hellhole from the way my idiotic spy explained it to me!” K. Rool raged.

“And do not think your posse is not as guilty! I was interested in the deal you were willing to make and we could have settled this without this conflict. It was when that beam wielding friend of yours decided to pull that underhanded mind tactic which was when I decided your crew could not be reasoned with, thinking that you would pull some kind of trick as well. Crews that pull tactics like that remind me of some blasted dirty apes I knew back in my home world." the captain ranted, remembering the days of when every plan he ever attempted was thwarted by Donkey Kong and his friends and family as he rambled on.

Then he heard the Terran mention the robots, who he had definitely heard rumors about. Those tin cans were responsible for many for many pirate crews retiring early and mainly staying put in that pirate town. K. Rool asked "You are planning to fight against those tin cans? The ones who have caused those cowards back in that pirate town have quit their seafaring lives? I would smash those tin cans with or without a reward if it means showing those so called pirates how it really means to be a pirate!"

Hayate smiled at the man who introduced himself, and bowed, taking no note of the smell. "Thank you, sir! Ayasaki Hayate, butler! At your service!"

He turned, looking into the jungle with an expression of curiosity.

"So," he said, changing the subject,"we have to go in there?"

"Sounds alright.. to me at least." He was in a good mood. They had saved the fish-thing, and that made everything seem much sunnier. It was why he helped people. It was the right thing to do.

"Treasure?" Jim muttered, before remembering the map Guybrush had. Damn, I had forgotton about that Jim thought, but didn't bother correcting K. Rool. When the Kaptain mentioned that he was considering the deal before Kyle's trick, Jim cast the Jedi a quick disappointed look.

"We're hoping to avoid them, but based on our luck so far I was expecting to run into them along the way. With another crew backing us up, we could stand a better chance. Then you could take all the rewards and glory, and in return we'd get to pass through this zone without any more trouble" Jim explained the deal, as he had thought of it, then shook his head again. "Well, it's gone to shit now" he added sourly, although the tone didn't seem to be entirely aimed at K. Rool.

Then came an "a-hem" off to the side, as #19450 stepped forward. "Unless we want to stay here all day, I doubt we could get his ship back to the condition it was in before our battle. However, with this much material to work with, we might at least get it sea worthy again within a short time, if everyone helps" she said, motioning with one hand at the field of derelect ships. "Since we can't bring back the dead, I'm afraid we can't undo everything that just happened between our group and your crew. But we can do what we can, if you promise not to turn on us again" she added to K. Rool directly.

Samus had also looked out to see the islands in the distance, or rather palm trees but their presence meant that there was land there. She also noticed how eager Travis had been to volunteer to go with the possible exploration team, which did cause her to sigh a bit. They weren't even close to it, and he wanted to go already! She should have expected his hot-bloodedness by now, but still...

"Dante has a point..." She said, still looking out herself. "We don't even know if we're going stopping on those islands or not. We should all wait and see what's over there before making any decisions..."

Lina patted her stomach and gave a small burp. Not to say her stomach was satisfied, but she had managed to make enough of a snack out of the fish she'd caught to make her hunger pains go away for awhile. Catching the fish without proper fishing gear - no one and responded when she'd asked if they had any, and a quick look around didn't turn anything up - had meant some patience and creative spell casting, but in the end she'd succeeded. She was also able to use her fire magic to cook the fish, and all-in-all had gained more through eating than she'd lost through the spells she'd employed.

It was about the time of that burp that Travis shouted about land. The possibilities of food, more treasure, and a change of scenery were all appealing (at the very least she could probably find a good stick from which she could later make a makeshift fishing pole), so she left her secluded little spot at the stern to take a look at the islands that had appeared in the distance.

Of course she hadn't heard Samus' very logical point at all.

"Not to sound greedy, but I wouldn't mind taking a quick look over there, too!" Lina shouted.

Minako remained quiet as she listened to Aki's story, watching the girl's expression. She noticed that Aki wouldn't look at her eyes, but wasn't that bothered by it. She frowned slightly when Aki mentioned the time when she didn't have any parents, but smiled slightly when she said Cain took her in. She waited for Aki to finish, nodding her head when Aki reiterated her reason for disliking Sixes.

"Well I'm glad she wasn't able to kill him, he sounds very important to you." she said sincerely. Her smile grew a bit more as she said jokingly "You seem to travel around in tanks a lot, though." The Zero pat the top of the Boateweiss for emphasis.

As the group ventured into the jungle, the sandy beaches gradually giving way to dense, scrubby forest, they would see an enormous anthill, almost as tall as Oswald, black swarming insects scrambling over the dirt pile carrying food in their mouth. Next to it, however, was a furry, black-and-white creature- another strange posthuman descendant, judging by its loping bipedal gait and dull, yet expressive, eyes- sitting nonchalantly next to the antill, picking out ants with a grotesquely long middle finger and plucking them one by one into its mouth. Upon seeing the group, it let out a confused chitter, but soon turned its attention back towards its meal.

Eventually, though, the group would come acros something more sinister- a long, furrowed trail of debris and broken pieces of metal, gently smoldering in the afternoon sun.

"The signal's getting stronger!" exclaimed Jenny, sprinting in the direction of the trail. "Looks like something crashed here not too long ago... I hope that they're alive!"

It had been a day since she had arrived on this island, by some means that had alluded her. She had spent the time since then on the beach, uneasy about venturing into the further into the island alone. She had a bad feeling about it.

So when she saw on the horizon a ship, she immediately became suspicious. How convenient that it arrives on the very day that I am dropped here. she thought. She was no longer as trusting as she had been, a year ago. No longer willing to believe what her eyes told her. No longer unable to see that which was beyond the    Veil of Reality   .

And so, Alexandra Roivas knelt down over her shotgun, as she muttered in a long forgotten language. "Pargon Mantorok Pargon Antorbok Pargon Magormor Pargon. With each word, a corresponding rune appeared around her, a purple haze around them as they drank in the corrupted magic of the corpse god Mantorok. Then the glow of the runes faded, like scars of reality, as the magic was absorbed into the weapon.

Never could it be said that the former college student was unprepared. Huffing from the energy required to cast the spell, Alexandra looked out over toward the rapidly approaching ship, shotgun in hand dancing with eldritch energies. It was time for some answers.

"Yeah, that's quite the coincidence" Gene said, although he didn't sound humored by that. Although there wasn't a direct connection, the idea that the shithead chasing after them weren't just some isolated group like the legion, but something that was outside the Extremus and across the multiverse was, well, disturbing. Thinking on it, perhaps that might explain why they were not effect by the curse zone in the same way Sixes wasn't (or perhaps it was because her outfit was so atrocious that it just couldn't be piratified) Hopefully that wasn't the case.

That the Trope-Tan didn't know much about him and the rest of group was a bit of a blessing, meaning that she was on the same level as the rest of them. If she tried anything funny soon, she could be surprised. However, hearing that she did hear of Dante and that he was know in the multiverse did get a reaction, furrowing his eyebrow for a brief moment. It didn't offend him, parse, but it certainly annoyed him. Good thing Dante didn't know that though, or the God Hand would never hear the end of it.

Gene tilted his head up when he heard someone above deck yell "Land Ahoy!" above them. It seemed that Gene was missing something. "Well this was fun" the martial artist said, readjusting the keg in his arm. "Now I'm going back up. You can stay down here and finish your pity party or you can join us. It's up to you" The God Hand laughed at that before heading out the hold and up the stairs, to find the boat was once again nearing some islands. "What'd I miss?"

They had headed into the jungle, and he had marvelled at the strange creatures he had saw, but with a tinge of horror at the same time - were these all once human, like the yeti-creature? If so... what did that mean? He kept mulling over the topic - until Jenny pointed out a long furrow of debris, festering in the green earth like an unhealed, open scar. “Ah!” Hayate’s eyes widened at the sight of the trail – before he dashed along it, swiftly overtaking Jenny and heading towards whatever lay at its end. This isn’t good, he thought as he ran through foliage and jumped over various bumps in the path, worried. I hope whoever got caught in that crash is still alright… I have to get there and help them! It would not be long before he eventually arrived at the source of the debris (quite possibly before anyone else), and once he got there, he would survey the wreck, looking for any signs of life or survivors.

Right now, he was still running. He had not reached his destination yet, though, as he had slowed down somewhat, so as to let the rest catch up. If they met with any danger, he would need a team by his side. He wasn't sure what this strange land held - but he was sure that whatever it held, most of it wasn't very friendly.

"Weird....." Oswald said, observing the anteater creature. Then he saw Jenny and Hayate suddenly sprint straight into the jungle down the trail. "Whoa hey, wait up!" he called out, and then ran after the two of them, managing to keep up but only just slower then Hayate. As he ran, he passed a small group of rabbits.

.............................

The sounds of stopping footsteps, followed the sound of a slow, backwards jog.

Oswald stopped near those "rabbits" he saw. Further observation revealed that these particular lagamorphs had a slightly blue coat of fur, lacked eyes, and dug for insects using front teeth so ridiculously long and sharp they might as well be beaks. The toon rabbit stared at the odd bunnies in sheer confusion. "Really weird," he said. He then returned to running down the trail.

Shortly after Gene left, Sixes would find herself with another visitor.

"Hello to you.... I do hope you are staying with the group of us, yes? It would be a shame if they were to driving you off."

Though Fawful's wide grin and thick glasses made his expression somewhat inscrutable, it hardly took a genius to figure out that Fawful's inquiry had ulterior motives.

“You are talking as if I want to attack you again. If we do manage to repair this ship with the junk around this island then I could help with those robots, I would love to knock them down a peg. The bottom deck is one spot that will need the most repairs second to the deck itself." K. Rool told the Trope-tan.

Then he turned to his remaining crew members with a glare. "You heard what I said, help with these repairs ya lazy landlubbers!" the captain shouted at the kremlings, who nodded and then scrambled to the other derelict ships to retrieve materials needed for repairing the ship.
