Mah boi, this rename is not what all true tropers strive for!
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.@Gillespie: Failing to read a trope before linking to it, and linking to it based on what the name sounds like by itself (again, without reading it) is surprisingly common practice in the wiki. Are they linking because the trope actually applies, or just linking because the name is popular? The latter creates evidence in favor of renaming.
For example of misuse, Dodongo Dislikes Smoke is not just "Kill It With Bombs", it's "Feed It A Bomb Sandwich".
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up....Where does the trope name come from anyway? I don't recall that line from the original game at least. If it came from there I'd expect it to be called Dodongo Dislikes Bombs. Or what, it was Navi who gave that piece of information?
I'd support a rename.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Especially considering with the small ones you tend to wack their tails until they die, it's really not the best thing. The only one you bomb is the huge boss one.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick@Silent: It was most definitely the original games, hinting that the only way to kill the bosses of Level 2 were to drop bombs in front of them (because they're immune to just about everything else). If they swallow the bomb they take damage; alternately, if they don't swallow the bomb but are just caught in the blast radius they get stunned and (only then) you can damage them with your sword.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Ocarina Of Time was most definitly not the original game, that would be Zelda1 for the NES. That's where the quote is from, NOT the N64 game.

[The rest was unintelligible.]Crowner is supporting a rename so far. Alt-title brainstorming time! Preferably ones that won't be confused with Eat the Bomb. Throw A Bomb In Its Mouth? Feed It a Bomb? Feed It Dynamite?
Rhymes with "Protracted."This is one case where I really appreciate the spooniness of the redirect Throw A Bomb In Its Mouth. That's it. That's what the description says. Feed It a Bomb also works.
[pedantic] Oh but you might not be throwing it. But you might not be feeding it. Hmm- well, "feeding" can also be used for shoving something in as well as just tricking them whereas throwing it has either the literal meaning or the suggestion that one is being casual about it and there's nothing really casual about getting a monster to swallow an explosive. [/pedantic]
I'll call for an Alternative Titles crowner because this thread is old and unlikely to get a flood for one way or another and I'm sure it will probably just boil down to minor points that don't make any impression on how it just sounds to us.

Crowner hasn't changed much so I'll call it tomorrow after this one last call for votes.
I've renamed it. There's nothing on the discussion but I don't know how to deal with the parent settings for Dodongo Dislikes Smoke and to remove it from Stuff Blowing Up's list.
Stuff Blowing Up was set as an index, rather than an indexing supertrope. I've fixed that and corrected the relation graph.
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanAlright. Ready to lock this up?

Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianThe call for locking was a tad premature. 65 wicks remaining. Unlocking.
Eat the Bomb is a different trope.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Why is a trope with such an high amount of examples from all media written and indexed as Videogame specific?
@Dr Starky: probably because people don't know how to spell that properly.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Because many of the people who write trope descriptions are gushing twits who don't know how to write a proper description if it was to save their lives.
Fight smart, not fair.Osmium, as you may have noticed, a lot of descriptions are unnecessarily fan myopic in one way or another. This has some of us rather annoyed.
So far all wicks are cleand. The only thing left is rewriting the description to be not videogame specific and finding a few nice indices.
On a sidenote, shouldn't the page image be potholed to Ocarina Of Time?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartFixed it.
Okay, I guess this is done. Locking it up. Good work, folks.

Crown Description:
Dodongo Dislikes Smoke
Against a rename. This is chiefly a videogame trope, and most videogame-literate people will recognize the source of the name. In my honest opinion I don't see why renaming every single work-or-character-dependant name is such a knee-jerk reaction, like renaming just for the sake of renaming. If I don't recognise a name, I'd just check the meaning/source on the page description. ANYWAY, RANT OVER, DISREGARD :D
