Ok, two more people have voted the leading option up in the last couple hours. The others are all still in the red.

I'm putting a clock on this. Tick-tock.

Seems this has been decided for awhile now, we should do something, it's starting to cause a bottleneck of other TRS Tight clothing tropes. Also we still need to pick a name for the trope that was Sensual Spandex until now.

How about Specialized Spandex

Laconic: Sexy but Practical or justified fanservice

Works for both gymnastics and non-sports like Circus acrobatics

If there's one thing I can guarantee you, it's that if it's listed on the Fanservice page it's Fetish Fuel to someone. Take a good long look at that list then pick a trope, any trope.

Would free diving and recreational diving be a better sport/Non-sport example?

Bump.

Again, this seems done, and its causing problems with other tropes under TRS. Can we just take action?

Bump

So how does this work exactly, will the current page be moved to YKTTW to come up with a new name or will a new thread or Crowner be made for the trope formerly known as Sensual Spandex?

And? Fanservice is a trope. Fetish Fuel is an Audience Reaction. We don't collect examples of Fetish Fuel.

This is a trope that will cause reactions both In-Universe and Real Life (even from the wearer), this page is about the costumes not the Audience Reaction.

When you said it seems like Fetish Fuel no one said you were wrong, just that everything is Fetish Fuel to someone, especially those on the Fanservice page.

[up] What? Ok, fanservice is sexual elements in a show that are gratuitous and unnecessary. By definition, it can't be justified. So if someone is wearing tight spandex for the sake of practically, then while it may be sexy to the audience making Fetish Fuel, it's not FanService.

Are you saying Authors and event promoters have never taken advantage of existing Turn On Tropes about sports or costumes or used them for Pandering to the Base? It's not even limited to Tight clothing.

This may not be the best example but, Last I checked, Women wore Swimsuits because they were convenient for swimming, that isn't preventing Swimsuits from being a popular form of Fanservice.

Guys go shirtless all the time for many practical reasons, that isn't preventing the Shirtless Scene from being the most common form of fanservice for women.

There seems to be a new option on the crowner...

The previous clock expired in June the crowner vote was for this option:

Expand the trope description to match what's indicated by the trope name: sexy spandex outfits on attractive people. Would also become a supertrope for any relevant sexy-tight-clothes tropes. Pros: Would bring together some currently disparate tropes, possibly preventing further misuse in any of them. Cons: Would need to create new trope for current definition, may still be mistaken for existing spandex-related tropes.

I am clocking again the page again, if no action is taken, let's think about putting it in the "not resolved now" pile.
