Most Underrated Western Animation Series?

There's no way Daria would qualify as underrated. I think that I found fandom of it in like any forum I visit. The reason for the show that must not named getting a 2011 return and Daria not getting it I think would be that Daria's story really ended. I think that any show with Daria in 2011 wouldn't be great unless it is a remade or something like that, and if they remake it, there is always risk that they do a bad job at it.

Darn @ Peter Pan and the Pirates It sort of occurred to me it was the Peter Pan show I watched when I was little, looked for screenshots of it, and yeah, I liked that show yet forgot it existed until reading this thread.

I really liked Tiny Toons but it got a little under Seinfeld Is Unfunny territory once Animaniacs appeared and reused most of its humor style and ideas rather effectively without relying on using Looney Tunes as a lure for viewers. I still like Tiny Toons because most likely we wouldn't have had Animaniacs without them.

Yeah, it is hard to understand why Mission Hill didn't get more episodes than say... Family Guy and its thousand of spin-offs.

Daria you expect to move on with her life.

Picking a direction might anger as many fans as it pleases.

Main reason I prefer Tiny Toons is because, the Toons are actually somewhat likable, while everyone in Animaniacs is obnoxious and makes me want to strangle them.

Both of them got some damned good video games in the sixteen-bit generation though.

I don't remember Cyber Six being particularly entertaining. I don't have particularly bad but too much grunting, and not a very impressive antagonist.

Other kid shows of the late 90s? The Magician? The American Godzilla? Nascar Racing? 3D Voltron? Maybe them and Cyber Six are underrated in the sense few seem to acknowledge they existed. It seems Beast Wars is the only appreciated, otherwise people seem to think the 80s were superior.

I discovered Mission Hill late one night while perusing Tumblr and I've freaking loved it since. It deserves more love, really.

Also, I was only able to find the first few episodes on some Chinese video site. Anyone know if it's on Netflix or anything?

Yes, it is...I think Adult Swim had it too, but it may have dropped it.

Would the animated adaption of Baby Blues count?

[up]I don't know. Both those shows had a pretty good run, though Squirrel Boy got a lot more flack, only ran one season, and really wasn't as bad as everyone claimed it to be, so maybe.

[up]I may have some bias with it: it was created in my city by someone I know personally, and he's already starting another show.

Muppet Babies in my opinion. Of all 80s cartoons, it's the only one of which I can say "it was really good" without having to add "for its era". I mean...I look at the old-school GI Joe, Transformers, or My Little Pony, and I go "heh, that wasn't very well-written, but it still manages to have a certain charm to it". I look at Muppet Babies, and I go "holy shit that was freaking cool".

[up]True, though in terms of popularity, I wouldn't really call Muppet Babies underrated due to the fact that it had a long life span and had plenty of merchandise. But yeah, more people seem to forget about it compared to other cartoons in the 80's. For a while, they used to have a cartoon segment that featured an older Kermit, Piggy, and Fozzie solving crimes. Not too many people know about that.

Wow, yeah, Muppet Babies totally slipped my mind too. I kept wishing they would show that nanny's face (the one time they did, the babies were hallucinating that she was a werewolf).

I never knew about the detective bits.

But I still say Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates, Highlander and Battletech. Being made in the 1990s and not based on comic books, there isn't as much nostalgia for them, only one of them (Highlander) has gotten a complete DVD release (for the other two, Peter Pan got five episodes in the UK and Battletech so far has zilch), and most people don't even know these shows exist.

I would have to agree with truteal and Green Machine, Squirrel Boy was a better show than everyone claimed it was.

I'll vote for Spider-Man TAS, admitidly it's not Bat Man but I really enjoyed it and I'd love to see it turn up on DVD.

The Marvel stuff in general tends to be underrated. Another one that was excellent was X Men Evolution, which I think is personally one of the better adaptations of the franchise (and also avoiding most of the... 90's-ness... of X-men: TAS) It gets a lot of hate though.

Invasion America - nobody watched it but it was epic. I don't remember that much of it except of the fact that I couldn't wait for the next episode and that the network that was airing it in Poland took it off the air before the end. I was SO pissed because of that, you can't even imagine.

What about Spectacular Spiderman? That show was great, and yet it got cancelled for some stupid reason.

I have really fond memories of Mighty Max and ReBoot. ReBoot's writing still holds up today and while Mighty Max shows its age it was still a very clever show with some neat visuals and some mature themes.

Crashbox, a bizarre Edutainment Show that ran two non-consecutive stints on HBO Family. If only because I like things that are out there.

(Admittedly I have only watched one episode recently, and should watch more)

[up] That was my favorite!!! Me and my little brother woke up at like six thirty just to watch it when I was like in the second grade! The Revolting Slob kind of creeped me out though. :P
