Great game, but the tutorial skip is literally the most depressing option I have ever seen in a videogame.
And that's why I love it.
"I remain just one thing, and one thing only — and that is a clown. It places me on a far higher plane than any politician."Sounds interesting.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I put up a page for the game. Hope that's okay.
Public demo is out.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Anybody see this?:
Anybody hear anything new about the game?
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984It had update at some point I think
So, um, update on Project Zomboid: it has somehow actually managed to survive and make it onto Steam Early Access, so I've been playing it (and watching LPs of it) recently.
In my opinion, it's incredibly awesome and becoming more so. And given the Nintendo Hard appeal, I'm especially enthusiastic about the latest mission-statement from the devs: "Operation Fix Late Game By Killing You Before You Get There".
Seriously, though: Project Zomboid feels like a game where zombies are not there for you to beat on endlessly, but an omnipresent hazard waiting for you to drop your guard before busting down the windows and swarming in. A lot of the changes that they're talking about in the mission statement tie into that: making it easy to do basic things (e.g. barricade a window) early, but make it take a lot longer to get to the point of being able to do the fancy stuff (e.g. build walls to create truly safe zones); making food a constant problem driving you back out into the world; bringing in massive hordes of zombies that you can't hope to defeat ... the biggest thing I like about Project Zomboid is the sense that you can't run a civilization by yourself.

Any idea how things are going nowadays? Game is on sale for the Steam summer event. I've been interested in it for a long time but have no idea how progress is coming along.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I haven't been playing it recently because I've been playing other games instead, but I've been watching MrEckyman's Let's Play videos — the game is definitely still being actively developed. I honestly would recommend it even if it weren't, though; even when I was last playing it, it was solidly made with a ton of gameplay in it.

Did a quick forum search and didn't see any threads about this, so here I go plugging an awesome-looking game that hasn't been released yet.

An indie zombie apocalypse survival RPG. I've already pre-ordered my copy, and I encourage others to do so, if only so that they can carry on updating it post-release and I won't have wasted £6 on it's minecraft-style development cycle.
Really looking forward to it's release in early May.
EDIT: Early May? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Pre-orders? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Release? HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Still worth looking into, though.
