It may have been wiser for FU Nimation to wait until Kai was off the air to release the DV Ds, so viewers wouldn't have a choice and boost ratings. But I know they also want to rake in as much profit as possible, and Dragon Ball Z was their flagship show for a long time.

All three are in dire shape at the moment, animation-wise.
Nick went downhill after Avatar ended. The only thing going for it is Legend of Korra. (not related to cartoons, but I do enjoy iCarly....so much Crap Past the Radar...)
I stopped watching after Jake Long ended, which I only watched because of the V As.
Cartoon Network has Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, and Generator Rex. It's the only cartoons I watch now. It's still got a ton of crap and they should have kept Toonami. Even Adult Swim's anime is becoming cut down more and more as the months go. I eventually stopped watching FMA: B because they knocked it to 1am the last time I checked (and I was in college, and it was a Saturday night, so...)
"Last you checked" must've been months ago. It has been on at 1 AM that long!
I still have hopes that someone will get the idea to revive Toonami. All 3 networks are steering more toward boy's action shows, and all 3 of their sister networks have already done that.
... does... ANYONE watch Nicktoons?! I sometimes wonder how the ratings are.
They get 100 000 in ratings. lower than Disney XD which Pisses me off to no end.

In my recent post, I'm probably one of the only ones who watch Nicktoons, except whenever an action show comes on.
I still dislike Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon and I will only watch it if I feel bored, or of nothing else is on.

Cartoon Network: Pretty decent for now. Could use a few tweaks but its not bad. They have Adventure Time, Regular Show, and The Amazing World of Gumball which I think are good shows. Their main problem is their small bit of live action (Remember, CARTOON Network, not LIVE-ACTION Network). and Problem Solverz. Problem Solverz is already getting cancelled on June 20th. 
Disney XD: I don't really know as I don't watch much of their programming. I think Phineas and Ferb is a pretty good show though and I watch it sometimes.
Nickelodeon: Awful. Just awful. Pretty much the only reason I watch it anymore is when they show a good episode of Spongebob, show a Rugrats rerun, show a Jimmy Neutron rerun, or show an old episode of Fairly Odd Parents. Fanboy and Chum Chum is honestly one of the worst cartoon's I've ever seen, I've never seen Tuff Puppy before so I can't judge it, and now its full of a bunch of horrible, bland, and uninteresting Tween/Teeny Bopper shows. I know Nickelodeon was never 100% animation and they DID have some live-action when they were still good but they still had alot of cartoons and their live-action wasn't always great but wasn't so bad that you want to rip your hair out when you watch it like their modern live-action.
The Hub: Never watched this channel before so I can't judge it. I'll have to watch it later though as I do have it on my Cable.

Nicktoons is losing againts Disney XD in ratings, but I like it because its much more experimental than the main Nick Channel.

Interesting. I thought it would be the other way around.
Nick might be more widespread. I know it was on basic cable for a LONG time before my cable company got CN on the premium plan.
Not to mention they don't really compete for the exact same markets.
If I may offer a Candian viewpoint on this using some of our cartoon networks:
- Teletoon: Inundated with constant reruns of Johnny Test, but otherwise airs good shows like Spliced, Transformers Prime, and Futurama.
- YTV: Basically a Nick wannabe. It used to be much better than it was, but really all I see on this show are Nick cartoons like Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents, between showings of dreadful Canadian shows like Kid Vs Kat.
- Family Channel: Really, really bad; basically shows Hannah Montana and the like interspersed with crap-cheap animation. DO NOT WANT.

Hate to say it, but YTV has basically become Nick Canada. It was blatant when they advertised Nick on Sundays or whatever. I'm not that sad about it because their shows are good for the most part, but still YTV needs their own properties.

They do have their own properties, the problem is is that they're all terrible. I basically stopped watching when they pulled Futurama off their station to make way for some terrible reality show about ghost hunters or something.
Correction then: they need their own GOOD properties. 
You never wondered just WHY CN execs wants to incorporate Live Action, even though everyone and their grandma like it just the way it is and hate the idea of CN REAL? Because they are a distant third in ratings and they know it and think they need to emulate Nick and Disney(Nevermind the fact that Nick's most succesful show is A CARTOON).

Cartoon Network: Not as good as it used to be and all the shows on that network are complete shit.
Disney: Phineas And Ferb is the only thing I watch on that network. Everything else is bad.
Nick: It's meh really. Not interested in any of the shows. Though Sponge Bob is complete crap now.
The HUB: Don't have access to it.
