I'm leaving until midterms are over. No, I don't know why my midterms are happening after a quarter of the semester is over. There is no time to question. Only study.

That's exactly why I prefer leaving it up to the individual. Though again, that's possible anyway even if there's a specific method built into the setting.

When will that be?

True enough, though it's good to let new CDTers know that they don't have to abide by the suggested methods for entering characters into a thread.

^^ The first one is next Thursday, and I think I'll be in the clear when the second week of October starts.

I added a thing into the OP proposal from a page ago about how you can have your character enter the thread (as Worlds' Fair actually has no explicit way for characters to get there). I'm also adding that to the rules and guidelines on the main trope page.

I wasn't around last night because once I got home from class yesterday, I pretty much just took a shower and crawled straight into bed. (And fell asleep with the light in my bedroom on.)

EDIT: Also, should we mention that we updated our rules? After all, they do clarify a lot of important things about the threads.

Making a separate post to mention this!

We still need to make a final version of this map. Mostly, the labels need to be updated (Marketplace to Market Hall, etc.). Size does not have to be to scale.

First, however, we need to know if we're having a cheap hotel and a nice hotel, or just one.

I still don't think the hotel(s) matter that much. Hopefully the thread will last more than one in-universe day, but besides that (and maybe sexytime, since it seems we can't get through a thread without it), I can't imagine what they'd be used for. I'm wondering if we should maybe just have "hotels" as a generic area, perhaps with the one fancy one distinguished but otherwise not really fleshed out.

And I can update the map if no one else wants to, but I'd rather not if I don't have to, for the same reason why the original one is just a bunch of geometric shapes stuck together.

...Note that before I make that map, I do need to know if anyone else has any opinions about the hotel(s).

I'm still not sure why we're doing a one-day thread honestly, but I have no real opinion on the subject.

I'd like for the thread to be longer than one day, though if it dies before that then it can't be helped.

The intention is to not do a one-day thread. Multiple days can let us switch up some of the stalls and take character interactions at a slower pace.

Is everybody else still in school? Crust Almighty, I feel old...

I have not been in school since I started in writer's block.

I finished college this year and am officially a NEET.

I'm in my second year of graduate school, studying for a MA in history.

Sophomore in an undergrad computer science and engineering program; I'm nineteen.

I'll start writing a description of the Cloud Gate Hotel when I get some physics done. I was just asking about the hotel(s) because even though we've done two hotels in the past (really just for Archipelago, I think) just one got most of the action while the motel got about two scenes and was forgotten. And the thinner-than-the-road hotel just looks funny.

EDIT: Nevermind, made a version with the skinny hotel gone.◊ (I don't have the means to fix the labels, though.)

So I've been poking around here for a while and thinking if I should try doing this again. Still haven't reached an answer.

But in the meantime while I have been glancing in here once in a while I never really got what's been planned as of yet. So uh, anyone care to share?

Oh, that's an interesting concept. Still not entirely sure if I should take part in it or not, though.

In the sense that I'm usually not very responsible with these things, and I could end up just stopping for no good reason.

Also there's the fact i can't think of any characters to use outside of the ones I've been using for the past three threads of this thing.

So, is there a specific time for the thread starting tomorrow? I should be mostly free that day; I'd just like to know. Rhyming not intentional.

I'm going to be busy 'til noon PST(though not a big deal because it might be a little while before I join regardless), and I might be preoccupied during the weekend because my friend is back in town after being in Tennessee for most of the summer.
