Alright I'll give it a go. Describing things is usually not my forte, but I'll try.

I have an idea! I will timeskip ahead to Cherbourg, or just before arrival there! How does that sound?

Other fun facts about the accomodations!

  • First Class
    • They got the A deck's enclosed promenade all to themselves. Cabins and staterooms were located on B deck.
    • First-class staterooms were very lavish and spacious with a sitting room, two bedrooms, two dressing rooms, a private bathroom, and a private outdoor deck. In 1912 money, they cost $4,246 or £870.
    • They had their own gymnasium, situated on the right-hand side of the ship. It came equipped with rowing machines, cycling machines, weights, a swimming pool, and lots of other good stuff.
    • They also had Turkish baths decorated with pretty blue and white enameled tiles, gilded decorations, and bronze lamps. They had lots of rooms in them, and separate areas for men and women.
    • They had a library, too, and lots of restaurants, dining rooms, and bars. Dinner had seven courses, and the tables had fresh flowers and bowls of fresh fruit.
  • Second Class
    • The conditions were way better than the first-class conditions on other rival liners. They had a library, too. And a barbershop.
    • Cabins had bunk beds and mahogany-paneled furniture, and were located on the D, E, F, and G decks.
    • They had more than one lounge and more than one bar, with enough open deck access for kids to run around and play. The main dining room had swivel chairs affixed to the floor, and four-course dinners.
    • People in both first and second class wore their finest evening wear at dinner.
  • Third Class
    • Their designated deck area was always buffeted with the wind and smoke from the smokestacks, but passenger accounts say that it still beat the crowded cabins and dining rooms below deck.
    • In fact, most of the immigrants in steerage encountered table linens and good sanitation for the first time in their lives.
    • Over half of the total passengers on the Titanic were in third class, and there wasn't enough space in the dining room- they only had room for 473 people, and they had 710 passengers. So they ate in shifts. Every passenger got a ticket with a designated time to go eat, and if you missed your time, you went hungry.
    • Instead of a lounge, per se, they had a 'general room', as it was called, which was basically the lounge. There, you would chat, read, play games, or smoke, and in the evenings, people would sing and dance to entertain themselves. The general room was furnished simply with hard teak-slatted benches, some tables, and some chairs.
    • Solo passengers had to share rooms with strangers, but they were separated by gender- women got the cabins at the rear, while men got a large dormitory in the bow. Rooms consisted of four bunk beds, a tiny two-foot aisle between the bunks to get in and out of bed and to the sink in the aisle, and exposed pipes as a ceiling.
  • Based on my book about the Titanic, it seems like people weren't allowed to classes, like I don't think third-class people were allowed in the second-class lounge and vice versa, etc.

I have another idea, too. My characters just entered the veranda cafe for afternoon tea and a snack for Marla. Since I have no clue where it is and can find no inforamation on it in my book besides the fact that it's popular with children, how about we make it communal, for all the classes?

Sounds like a plan. But I need Chihuahua over here so I can get Gabe to leave without coming off as an ass.

I'm here, but I'm leaving family. I should be here in 15 minutes.

Do we have a good description of the Cantina anywhere? I'll need one for my first post.

Not really. Here what I imagine the Cantina consisting of:

  • A rectanglar room with the short sides to the side.
  • Floor made of wooden boards, walls wooden panels. Red trimming.
  • 8 circular wooden tables with four seats. They part in the center into two sections.
  • Bar towards the back. Boxed-shaped with fourth side the back wall. Six wooden bar stools.
  • Left towards bar, stairs. Right towards bar, kitchen door.
  • A door towards the right leads to another room (brief description in earlier post in this thread). Door towards left is locked.

Not the most descriptive, but just enough that people can imagine the dimensions of the area.

Okay, I will have Alexia in Titanic come into the lodge. I need to check my watchlist.

Did Titanic timeskip to Cherbourg or not? I'm under the assumption that it didn't.

It's on its way; I set the time to 3:05 PM. It doesn't actually get there until 6:30 PM.

Finally back in the wired world. Anyone want to give me a basic summary of what I missed in the past few days, please? How much time passed since Edmund's disappearance to his room, and what would he be likely to notice on the way to the first class lounge? I could skim the thread myself, but I'd be likely to miss something very important, especially in my current sleep-deprived state. I'll be rejoining tomorrow morning, I imagine.

Whoops - is chihuahua still MIA? S/he's the one controlling the Cantina NPCs, right?

Edit: [up]I don't know about plot details as much, but the time is now 3:05 - the ship has set sail for Cherbourg. I believe your guy dozed off around 10:00 AM or so, so he hasn't missed much.

Is it too late to join these? I'm still thinking of doing so (probably tomorrow, it's pretty late here), but I was without an Internet connection for the past few days so I have a lot of catching up to do.

Probably not. Is Cherbourg another stop? Your character can load on there.

Cherbourg? Damn, I was counting on Southampton. Maybe I can re-retool him into a Frenchman.

Hang on, no, QQQQQ's character boarded at Southampton, right? So presumably so did mine.

Your character is a detective, right? Maybe they just went there to track someone down.

Well, he was going to be tracking Sophia, I think.

I should probably figure this out once I've caught up with the thread.

You can Retcon your character on.

And it looks like Cathy needed to use her magical powers to defuse a fight. At least the girl didn't try to go melee.

You are going to try that out, aren't you?

I have to go off for about 20 minutes. I can't believe we're near 100 posts already. I believe that was the number that Carnival had on it's first day.

No thanks. Someone else can demonstrate that.

...Now with my latest post, I am liking Cathy as a character very, very much. Her jollyness has no bounds.

Now I will be leaving. New NPC action: Cathy causes weapons to fly into the air if equipped. If tried again, she teleports the weapon away.
