Hey does anyone know any anime where there isn't just one but a several(four would be good) main characters who gets to have a shot at the main role according to arc?

Like say, one character gets the primary development, insight and their shot at taking out the Big Bad in one arc, then another main character the next arc?

So what are some anime or manga that done that?

Not exactly what you're looking for, but romance anime Amagami SS and Yosuga No Sora aired in an omnibus format, where each arc has a different heroine as the "winner".

Blassreiter is one. Sort of. There's two main characters (I think) who appear in every arc, but the arcs aren't centered around them.

Madoka Magica to a small extent too. Monster as well (though you can't really call some of the characters arcs are centered around main characters.)

I think Durarara has several protagonists who get plenty of parts centered around them too, but it isn't like Character 1 gets this arc all to himself, Character 2 gets the next.

Toaru Majutsu No Index has three protagonists which have stories centered around them, though it isn't very equally distributed.

Pokemon Special. New game, new story arc, new main characters taking the spotlight, unless if the game the arc is based on is a remake then some of the older heroes return to the spotlight.

Ef A Fairy Tale Of The Two has multiple protagonists that all get their own linear story that tends to pick up where the last one left off. However, that's romance.

While it's not there yet. I'm kind of hoping this eventually happens in One Piece. In particular, I'd like to see Usopp take down the Big Bad of the Elbaf arc.

Not what you are really looking for, but Baccano has no true main characters. There are different timelines and Baccano has characters that play a large role in the seperate periods, but there is no main character of the whole show.

In the Shonen/Action genre, there is Reborn which, while having one main character, the rest of his team do get roughly equal amounts of attention, though the main guy is always the one to fight the Big Bad

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. :P

Well, there IS a main character... sort of, because you don't find that out until fairly late in the second season. But it totally uses the POV switch you've described.

Jojos Bizarre Adventure. Seven arcs, seven protagonists. Their stories are connected by a string of incidents involving such things as prehistoric vampires and a stone arrow that grants people mystical powers.

I think Higurashi counts. Each major character has an arc centered around them, although for the first three arcs, there's only one viewpoint character. But there's only one protagonist, although as previously stated, you don't know who it is until later.

Bubblegum Crisis. On a related note, Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex is quite a bit like this. The Major is so overpowered, she's used almost as a background protagonist, with the spotlight in most given episodes falling primarily on other members of The Squad.
