It wouldn't be the hackers, because they said they were gonna continue attacks on Sony in a way that wouldn't affect the customers.
Although with a group like Anonymous, I guess you can never tell.
^ This wouldn't be the first time Anonymous "broke loose".

The new It Just Bugs Me!Oh, huh. I thought it was just my PS 3, but when I got on my cousin's PS 3, his wasn't working either.
Hope it gets back tomorrow.
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudI'm probably the last one to notice this, but in The Terminator lore the 21st of April 2011 was Judgement Day, the day Skynet became self-aware. (according to their wiki anyway)
Creepy.
...Let us in...- There are other hacker groups than Anonymous
- Sony has a "PSN Under Maintenance" tag
- Sony could blame hackers for their own incompetence. It wasn't hackers that fucked up the Dragon Age: Origins DLC - and people STILL have problems with the DLC.
Ah, well good to know it's probably not anonymous then. Just tried to access again and it came up with the 'playstation network undergoing maintenance' tag. I'm still annoyed though.
So what else could be causing it, aside from anonymous?
Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...Sony?
Jonah FalconMaintenance, presumably.
Damn, I just got Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Yeasterday night so I could try some online matches.

Watch SymphogearWow, what a crappy week for this to go down too. Portal 2, SOCOM 4, MK 9, and Arcana Heart 3 all came out this week, and they all have pretty beefy online features. Good thing I downloaded Threads of Fate when I did. Been wanting to play that game without paying Ebay prices for some time now.
So long as it comes back up in time for my next BTTF episode, I'm good. I use my Wii for Netflix, and I've been playing the hell out of Radiant Historia and 3D Dot Game Heroes lately anyway. Single player games FTW!

Watch SymphogearYep AH 3 is download only on PS 3, at least in North America.
Can someone explain to me again real quick how digital distribution is superior to physical media? Cause I've been looking for an excuse to post that pic of Lex Luthor yelling "WROOOONG!" in Lois Lane's face.

@ J. C.
...You don't have to spend gas money/ wait a week for the game to arrive?
I got nothing.
"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."Because I would take waiting for a download any day over a broken/lost disc. yes this has happened to me.

Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Plus, Cloud Computing can save things like control settings and maybe even saved games.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI wouldn't point fingers yet. Not enough information all around.

...Let us in...Well, there goes my chances of downloading Cladun.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.At least I bought FFVII before this.
Whelp, there goes my plans of getting Arcana Heart 3 over the weekend.
Just putting this out here. Please don't blame 4chan. Or at least 4chan as a whole.
We hate these assholes (assuming it is some hacker group using the name anon) and want the FBI to kick their doors down.
Feel free to hate the script kiddies on /b/.
So, as far as we know:
- Steam is not responsible for this.
- Anon is not responsible for this.
- Other groups may be responsible.
- An incident in Japan might be the cause.
In 1997, I bought a copy of FF VII. Fourteen years later, I not only still have that disk, it still works perfectly. This is after being dragged through two different states and three countries while I was in college, and later, the Army. If you break/lose a disk, you have no one but yourself to blame. Also, say I wanted to buy Arcana Heart 3 this week. If it was on disk, one 5 min trip to Gamestop is all I would have to wait. But since its PSN only I have to wait... what are we, in day three now of the outage now? I feel really bad for the 50 people or so who own a PSP Go.
Cloud saves can still work with physical media.
Try again guys. Something generation doesn't seem to get with its itunes/Kindle/Steam obsession is that is is always, ALWAYS better to physically own something. Is it as convenient? No, of course not. But I still have my dog-eared, ripped cover copy of 1984. Can you Kindle owners say the same? Do we have anything other than Valves word that, at some unknown future point when they go out of business (god forbid) that they will magically release all of our Steam accounts from their DRM? How fucking long did it take itunes to secure the rights the Beatles songs? A music distribution service that didn't have the goddamn Beatles for years???
Services go down. It happnes. It will continue to happen. No system is perfect. And when shit breaks, there is nothing you can do about it. Its taken out of your hands. But if you have a physical copy of something than its continued viability is entirely up to you.
EDIT: Oh, i cant believe i almost forgot this:

So this is the cause of hackers then.
I really hate that a few jerks have to ruin everyone else's fun.
I really hope this isn't the cause of Anonymous hackers...
Thankfully, it may not be.
