That did not fix anything - natter, Thread Mode, This Troper, bad wicks etc. still abounded. And the cut of ANF was by admin fiat. There is nothing to complain about.
On a related note, Can we get some rules for Nightmare Fuel pages, like this?:
- Contestations or natter will be zapped on sight
- Explain what is the Nightmare Fuel. Anything insufficient will go to discussion until it's improved.
- No first-person. Period. And no Troper Tales either - they will also go to discussion.
- No links on main pages, other than in descriptions.

It solved the problem it set out to, the incorrect potholes. It in no way contributed to natter, This Troper or thread mode and did fix bad wicks by making the large majority of them correct retroactively. If the administrators decided to cut pages, it could have been done in a way that didn't move backwards. All those wicks fixed by the disambiguation page are now back to being wrong. It would have been better to just cut "accidental" nightmare fuel completely and removed "high octane" from the other page, then removed the disambiguation page. Or cut them all.

Dude, we aren't supposed to wick to a disambiguation. It wasn't a fix for the many problems of the Nightmare Fuels. These are the reasons why it kept coming back to TRS.
Anyway, cutting ANF IS what the admins decided, and I can see it working. Now that one problem is solved, the many others need to be fixed as well.

Summary:
- So, I've just removed the wicks for Intentional Nightmare Fuel and Unleaded Nightmare Fuel and thrown them both on the Cut List.
- Ekuran said they were going to remove the wicks to Nightmare Fuel Unleaded with help so that it could be cut as well.
- ccoa said she was going to ask for permission to headline the cleanup effort, and that she received it.
- She also said that it was likely that Accidental Nightmare Fuel entries have to be moved over to Nightmare Fuel as for now.
- The crowner says that we'll run the /HighOctaneNightmareFuel/—>/NightmareFuel/ change like a regular namespacing action.
- I have proposed the rules mentioned a few posts before, and it seems they are getting some support.
So, there is one question: How do we make these rules visible? We can't just add them to Nightmare Fuel - the page is supposed to be for readers, not editors.

How about we just make it temporary? Just until we've fixed most of the problems.
Could be an idea, but it's like 15000 wicks to fix here. It will have to stay there for long.
Otherwise, any other opinions about the rules proposed for Nightmare Fuel?

I've removed all the Nightmare Fuel Unleaded wicks down to D. And most of these were just attempts to shoehorn opinions into main pages.
Concerning these rules, I will have to try something...
Another question: What do we do with In-Universe examples of Nightmare Fuel?

I too agree to the proposed NF rules, although I'd like to change it into "No Troper Tales either. They will be zapped at sight."
Because conserving TT in discussions would go against the decision to cut them from the site altogether, no?
Actually, my idea was to simply zap any first-person stuff, but I doubted that these rules could get approved if they were that drastic.
I put them in a some more reader-friendly form into the edit requests for locked pages thread, and will continue with the removal of Nightmare Fuel Unleaded wicks.

I've finished removing the 500 Nightmare Fuel Unleaded wicks. I also removed a lot of other Nightmare Fuel and High Octane Nightmare Fuel wicks along the way - 90-95% were used to inject personal opinions into articles. Cutlisted the Nightmare Fuel Unleaded redirect now.

Also, what's the status of the HONF namespace? Is it going to be changed to NF or what?

I wouldn't count on Eddie having the time to do it. It should probably be done as each page is cleaned.

I have to announce that I won't have an Internet connection next week and that this week's one is screwed up ATMO so I can't really help anymore other than the already cleaned stuff

HONF is to be changed to NF. Note that you should redirect the original pages, not cutlist them.
Also, don't bother bring over any first-person examples.

Sorry for triple-posting, but now that the proposed rules of Nightmare Fuel have been added to Nightmare Fuel, it's time to pin down the what-to-do list:
Wicks
- Move all High Octane Nightmare Fuel and Accidental Nightmare Fuel wicks over to Nightmare Fuel.
- Delete all mainpage wicks other than those for trope descriptions, from Nightmare Fuel: This is an Audience Reaction, so leave it on YMMV and Nightmare Fuel tabs and don't get too worked up about what specifically goes into it - what's Nightmare Retardant for one person may well be Nightmare Fuel for another.and Sinkhole:Covert Opinions: Too many times sinkholes are used to bury a subjective trope in an example or description. These are bad. If you see one of these, remove the unnecessary links and/or restructure the necessary ones.
Namespaces
- Namespace all HighOctaneNightmareFuel/ entries to NightmareFuel/. And remember, redirect, not cutlist the original tabs!
- Cut List or redirect (to Accidental Nightmare Fuel) all AccidentalNightmareFuel tabs, as per inbound count.
- Delete all first-person examples: Personal examples are Troper Tales and do not belong here.Also remove any natter or Thread Mode.
- Undetailed entries, like weblinks can go in discussion tabs or be removed too.
Is this a viable plan of action? Is there anything else to decide, or can it be executed in Special Efforts?

There aren't going to be any ANF tabs, Septimus. They all got cut as far as I know.
If there was an especially large or popular NF/ANF page that got cut, you can PM me to get the examples and/or make it a redirect, such as the Kingdom Hearts or Pokemon Nightmare Fuel page. However, if this starts getting abused for every page that ever existed, I'm going to retract the offer. :P

Yes, I noticed that too. I said that because they were displaying on the Related To pages. Guess they were artifact wicks.
However, while I can open that Special Efforts thread, my lappie is running hot and I don't dare to make anything big while it is.
And we really need that headline - 500 wicks are one thing but +10000 are too much for a few people.

decided to merge High Octane Nightmare Fuel back into Nightmare Fuel. Here's the vote for what to do with the namespace.
You know what's annoying? A crowner turned Nightmare fuel into a little index with the different pages on it. That was well enough,
why couldn't you all have left it at that? How many times must Nightmare fuel be run through the repair shop? At this point they would be better off deleted less this crowner won't be overturned too and yet another repair shop thread is made.
