Chapter 55 is another sad chapter.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it Well@Spooky Mask: I think Toto already mentioned it chapter or two before it was shown. Not much of a reveal.
Good job me answering months old question!
looks like chap 56-b will be the final chapter
Word of caution: while awesome to see, the Final Battle will make you cry a river. Heck, even Minatsuki, of all people, tears up after realizing that Ganta's fighting Shiro!
Together, we are one. While Chapter 56 was a good fight, I thought the previous two episodes were sadder.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellI'm still at Chapter 55 (which, btw, has been released by the scanlators I follow, mangastream). I don't know about Chapter 56 but this one really was sad. Ganta agreeing to kill Shiro and Shiro's delight at this prospect.
Just one more left, and its a doozy.
This cant end well.
Final chapter's coming next month. But good lord, I'm gonna need a drink after reading the latest chapter. Did Shiro and Ganta both die in the blast? Did they live? Whatever the outcome, tears were once again bursting out of my eyes from reading this chapter...
Together, we are one.<chants> Happy end! Happy end!
(Mangastream just released chapter 56)

September is the final chapter. As for the second half of 56 I liked the call back to their first meeting in the jail
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellGood news guys — Viz rescued the manga!
The final chapter has been released.
Overall this was a very enjoyable series, and I felt it had a strong direction from the beginning. It was, on the whole, satisfying.
Shiro wakes up from a coma.
I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry.........
Watch SymphogearI'm going to be honest: Shiro waking up did not hit me in the feels. It was too short, and it was predictable. I had wanted Ganta to kill her, so I might be biased. (Not that I hate Shiro. I just think it would have been more interesting that way)
I am really really glad for the okama and the old man though!
That was a reasonably good end to an entertaining series but I do feel there was a little more story to be told with the series as a whole.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it Well^You mean it felt like it was cut short a bit?
One Headscratcher from TDK asks an interesting question: Why do the tropes keep insisting that Shiro didn't have multiple personalities? TDK suggests that this is evidencing that Shiro did have split personalities but that they merged after forcing her way through the Mother Goose system's lullabies. Read here for further evidence.
At the same time, she goes through a Despair Event Horizon when she realizes that the Mother Goose system prevents her from getting killed. More importantly, we see Shiro undergoing more scientific experimentation when she hears that Ganta is going on the field trip to Deadman Wonderland. As you can see here, here, and here, the Wretched Egg personality almost instantly switches off as she escapes to find (and ultimately massacre out of jealousy) Ganta's class. Wretched Egg and Shiro both love Ganta, but it's a stretch to see a change in her heart (without the lullaby to boot) that quickly. This culminates to Chapter 55's Wham Line: "It's the same as that coin you have. From two identical faces... there is only one Shiro." Product of Wasted Time and a Reddit discussion also concur with TV Tropes' current interpretation of Shiro, which you can read here and here.
Thoughts? And what should we do with the tropes on this page that reflect this? Since I interpreted the events of Chapter 55 to be that of the second paragraph, I apologize in advance if Shiro really did have a Split Personality and I would be more than happy to rectify any potential mistakes.

Together, we are one.
And the reason she doesn't explain it to Ganta is....? Damn talk about being a Death Seeker...
