Well, I see that they use the occasion to do a massive clean-up as well, since they won't bother moving the videos to Youtube by themselves (instead letting people download them and re-upload them).
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."As long as I can search for porn videos using google video search, I'm perfectly okay with this.
Why I am afraid of fences.Well this is a shame. Medibot hasn't uploaded all his Dreamland 3 videos to Dailymotion yet.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Wait, what about some L Ps, ones that show bosses in an RPG in Google Video? :s
Why the hell are they deleting something so big? Oh well, not that I care.
I never used google video, since it had nothing i couldn't find on youtube
There were a lot of full episodes of MST 3 K on GV, which was a lot nicer than having to create a playlist and hoping that there wasn't a part that was randomly taken down for copyright even though the other nine parts were fine.
Fuckit. The MST3K episodes should be saved at least. This is a good tool: http://tinyogg.com
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Never used it, so I'm not gonna miss it. When did they buy You Tube?
Searching for "google buys youtube" should give you a result. It's fairly easy...
Though "Ages and ages ago" should give you some idea. It was almost 5 years ago.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.I used to watch the uninterrupted upload of Threads on that thing, long before Youtube allowed videos longer than 10 minutes.
What a shame. It was a pretty stable platform, but Youtube's user base is far larger. There really is no other way this would play out, especially after the buyout.
Can't believe it's already been five years. I joined a mere few months before Google took over, back when users of the site were free spirited. Now commercialized shit hog the limelight every time, every day.

Man, you could find any full film on Google Video if you were smart enough back in the day. My first year or so in college was spent grabbing movies and MST 3 K episodes.
Can't say it surprises me sadly, especially since they took away the upload option a while back. Hopefully the various L Pers get notice of this and try to get their footage while they can.
The people Something Awful pretty much know Viddler sucks now, and took out any links to it in their LPs. So I'm assuming they would know about this.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I'll miss the hour and a half long recordings of old science lectures nobody cares about.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.http://www.google.com/videohp You can still use that link.
And I've actually found some full MST 3 K episodes on You Tube (as in, not broken into parts). Probably some enterprising young lads who heard the news put 'em up.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Well, I know at least one uploader gave that as a reason for uploading one of the videos I found.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Waah, Google video was surprisingly good at finding me new episodes of Pokemon whenever the DVR failed to tape them.

We all saw it coming, honestly. After they bought Youtube, Google Video's archaic system just doesn't seem worth keeping around. If it weren't the only remaining form that a lot of old LPs exist in, I probably wouldn't have found out at all.
Still, it had this quaint air about it, of a simpler internet from years past. Sort of like Livejournal or Craigslist (with all that entails).
So what do you lot think?
