We Are All Pokemon Trainers Discussion

I'd recommend not setting alarms to wake up at midnight anymore. That's kind of a recipe for an awful night on its own.

I actually didn't wake up at the alarm; I woke up two hours later due to the med issues. So that wasn't the issue and I'm admittedly irritated you thought it was because I did that to try to accommodate your schedule.

Speaking of which, back to getting some sleep after all that so I'm less of a grouchy cranky asshole.

Still, 2 in the morning. Not a happy time to wake up, planned or not.

Eeeeexactly. Problem is the meds do that if I'm forced to take them before a certain time of night weither I want them too or not. >_<

Good news is I HAVE gotten some sleep now and am feeling like less of a cranky douche, so should be able to resume things as normal in a sec.

EDIT: Also edited the personal threats and such out of that rantpost; still feel strongly about th rest, at least for now, but those decidedly weren't OK on my end.

EDIT 2: Ah heck, nuked the whole thing; I still feel strongly about the subject, but I expressed it poorly enough there leaving it up wasn't worth it.

Double post because... There was something special that I meant to do yesterday, but dumped that awful ranty shit instead, so while it's a bit late I felt I still would drop this:

It didn't start with me. It started with some plane tickets to Unova.

Those little tickets sparked something. And it started crude and simple and kinda dumb, but it always, always, had potential. And as it went along, it lived up to it. It grew from a crude little assemblage of some posters dicking around with wild abandon and used hat as a base, an oh so wonderful base, to turn into one of the most fun interpretations of the Pokemon world I had ever seen. And when I was roped into it all in the midst of that blossoming I was pulled along for the ride and grew and improved myself, and this RP went from something I thought I would grow bored with and fade out from into a few moths into an over four-year adventure that despite all the difficulties - and there have been ungodly amounts, as you all saw just yesterday - I deeply have grow to personally care about and view as one of the most wonderful experiences of my life.

I've learned so much in this RP. About writing, about characters, about stories as a whole. About freindship and trust and enjoying the silly and fun things in one's bonds with others even as you learn to deal with arguments and diffrences and moving past them. And it's given me drive to move onward to what's next, my wrapup I'm still trying to complete and fortunately (though no guarantees, I could be delayed by awful crap to still being here a year from now from all I know, but knock on wood, fingers crossed, all that, and I genuinely don't have too much left to finish) see the end in sight in the near-ish future - but so I can take my time here and use it to build on my own interpretation of the Pokemon world in the Yangverse further, and from there go beyond to write stories more thoroughly my own.

But as I head out, you guys are throwing back to those crude old days in a way making hem new and bigger and even better - once again fighting a glitch in Sinnoh threatening all of reality, but taking all the RP has grown and changed in with us. And while I sadly cannot take part due to trying to pack my bags to give my grand finale and head off to new horizons as soon as possible, I salute and support the rest of you all in doing so.

Heh... Five years. Most R Ps are lucky to last five months. And it's the same month the franchise this RP is built around is celebrating 20 years.

For that, the wider franchise has adopted the mantra "train on" This RP's called We Are All Pokemon Trainers. So that goes double for us, former evil overlords and immortal wanderers and powerful mons mons giving humanity a try and legendary artifacts giving humanity a try and teen psychics with more potential than anyone would think and even guest star Fire Emblem characters allong for the ride and everyone in between alike.

Train on, WAAPT. Train on.

I am not nearly as eloquent as Umbra, but I would also like to say a few words about this rp. I remember sitting at dinner with Gamer in florida and laughing my ass off as we tried to come up with ridiculous things for mewtwo to do in glitch mountain. Eventually, we ended up with him wearing a bikini and smoking a bubble pipe while reading a magazine, or something like that. Point is, I joined waapt for a bit of silly fun and brother-sister bonding. Now, five years later, Gamer's gone off to college, and the silly fun has turned into epic arcs with some fun on the side. And now more than ever, I ask myself what the hell I'm doing here. I'm not a gamer. Hell, all I know about pokemon I got from the movies. And Gamer has completely dismissed the rp and has gone off to go do collegey things. But the things that I joined for, the fun and the bonding, that stuff is all still here. You guys are always so encouraging and funny and kind and willing to help me with pokemon terms that I don't know. There are always hilarious side arcs in waapt, and the more dramatic ones use real emotion and are incredibly well written. Oh, and I know I haven't always been here, and I'm not reliable enough to plan long term arcs with. But I keep coming back because you guys have all become my brothers and sisters. I wouldn't have gotten through middle school without waapt, and I definitely wouldn't have gotten through the last two years without you guys either. You guys have been there to listen to me when no one else would. This has been all over the place in tone and I am too lazy to edit, so to conclude: thanks for the love guys. Here's to the next 5 years or however long we last.

So my internet is super weird, even at work, HOWEVER, I discovered that I can at least Skype through the work internet. I'll try it tomorrow when I'm available, and if that works, maybe Pidgin will work.

I wrote a huge spheal, but then I borked the "Save Draft and go back" button and lost it.

So the Short Version is, I didn't expect to come back here, because leaving an RP is usually a one-and-done deal with me.

What this means is that you guys had enough of an impact on me that I bothered to check in periodically and then eventually come back.

So yeah, here's to an RP that actually managed to last 5 years, which in all my 8 years of RP-ing is something that happens incredibly rarely.

@Sixth: Noted, though still poke me before then for something.

@Star: Ouch @ losing the longer one. But I'm glad you were able to come back as well, especially since IIRC you kinda left a bit on bad terms. But you - and we - are past that now and it's indeed freaking awesome.

I'm not really one for huge long things like this, but...

It's approaching 5 years since I joined, and I certainly didn't think it'd have the impact on me it has. Even though I was somewhat familiar with a few people(even if all of them but one/two are still around), there's definitely been some aspects of my life that probably wouldn't be here or have happened when they did without this RP being a thing.

Sure, I might not post anymore, or have ideas, but I'm still around. There's been some ups and downs, but it's been interesting growing with you people. Here's to more of whatever it is we have going here.

Was wondering if I should write something, since several of you seem to have done so. Well, I guess all I really have to say is that I'm glad I did join the RP, even if school and stuff made things difficult for a while, and I'm still not entirely sure how to continue from here. At least I've made a lot of friends, and I was able to improve my writing skills.

There's a reason I dedicated PMD: Reflecting Balance to you guys in the first chapter on Serebii.forums, after all. It's thanks to you guys that I was able to find the inspiration to write it. I'll hopefully be able to keep improving my writing skills, and I hope you guys look forward to more chapters of my fanfic and stuff.

So, yeah. It seems WAAPT has been an inspiration to quite a few of us writing-wise over the course of these five years. Let's keep the RP going for as long as we can.

OK, did a bit of a overhaul to the Author's Works page on the wiki, namely changing the headers up so each player has a subheader for their own works in each category, adding a Gallery section to the Written Works section for commissions and such of people's non-WAAPT writings (in which Tom and Roger now sit~) and... Adding all my Yangverse fics. XD

On that note I also added Overlord to Silent's section, but held off on adding any more of his or any of Bitters' musical compositions to the Music category since I wasn't sure if there was anything they'd want left out. So both of you, either add them yourselves or let me know?

Is it okay if I add my deviantart or something to that page?

Well, technically my literal anniversary ended more than three hours ago, but it's still the 9th elsewhere in America so I'll do this anyway.

Back in 2011 I didn't think five years later I'd still be doing this, the result of a bunch of us throwing stuff at a wall that managed to congeal into something great, but here I am. Sure, not everyone's made the trip with me, but it's been a fun ride.

I tentatively consider this a very good sign. Though do wonder of any significant connection to Diancie as well as Volcanion given similar looks.

Might not be gen 7; remember that ORAS had plenty of things that weren't compatible with XY, it could be a new Mon for XYZ.

also connection to Volcanion is confirmed at least in a movie, where a Volcanion knows about Maigaina's secret mechanism and teams up with Ash to save it
