Looking at Gen 1 mons alone I'd say that 1/5th is actually a substantial amount.
Look at it this way, 1/5th of the species found in a given area are venommous. That's a lot.
GIVE ME YOUR FACENewf, we are both forgetting the term "a lot" is subjective. While I generally don't start using the term "a lot" to describe an amount until the amount I'm referring to is roughly equally to about a third of the total, I doubt I'll be able to convince you to think the exact same way. In fact if I were to describe 1/5 in a phrase I'd use "more than a few". So let agree to did disagree on this point.

It was Thanksgiving yesterday, so I figure this ought to be a good time to say:
Thank you. You all are wonderful people, and I'm so happy to be in an RP with you guys. I'm sorry if I seem like a whiny bitch a lot, I just like being around my friends and playing with them.
Aw Dogs, that's so sweet.
-hugs tightly-
GIVE ME YOUR FACEI will be trying to post later on today. Bit busy with school stuff.
The Delta Episode is officially closed to anyone not involved in a vital role. That's me, Umbra, Verax, Pippi, and potentially Tagg if he thinks RP!Tagg should still lead the remaining DE team. My decision is final.
At this point, I just want to get this done.
Um, Bitters, please calm down, I don't know what happened...

Contact Me!Too late. I've already decided. I promised I'd pull through with this plot no matter what it takes, and apparently this is what it takes.
Wow... if that was for me then I'm really sorry I really didn't intend to upset you so much, I really only wanted to know if I could get in there. Sorry *Bows deeply*
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"No, it wasn't you. It was other people. I'm keeping my word, but it's nothing against you. I just can't handle the stress in general.

Oh, okay then I'm glad... still sorry for bringing this up.
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"I promise, you don't need to be sorry.
Thanks, keep up the great work here. :)
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"To burn off some of the nasty mental gunk that's been building up for me, I'm gonna bring back an old series:
How to Improv!
Today we're going to talk about one of the most primary rules of improv, and one that I can't believe I had forgotten up until this point.
Convenient Location
Doofenshmirtz: <Wait, where the heck am I?>
Norm: <I do believe we are currently inside one of our author's demonstrations on how to improvise!> =D
Doofenshmirtz: <GAH! Okay, well, what the heck are we supposed to do?>
Norm: <You start off! Give us a set up and I'll continue!> =D
Doofenshmirtz: <Start off where?>
Norm: <Anywhere! This exercise is to show how flexible this rule can be!> =D
Doofenshmirtz: <Uh, okay. So... I'm... going down the street, when suddenly, I see a kickball on the side of the road.>
Norm: <Yes, and the kickball is flat, so no one can use it!> =D
Doofenshmirtz: <Wait, what?>
Norm: <Just keep rolling with it, sir!> =D
Doofenshmirtz: <Rrrrright... anyway, so I see this flat kickball on the side of the road, and... and...>
Norm: <Yes, and?> =D
Doofenshmirtz: <And, um, and then a Beedrill popped out of the bushes! HE was the one that made the kickball flat!>
Existentially-Questionable Beedrill: <Yo.>
Norm: <There you go, sir! Yes, and then the Beedrill started chasing Dr. D, because he had invaded his territory, just like the kickball!> =D
Doofenshmirtz: <Wait, what?!>
Existentially-Questionable Beedrill: <Buzz buzz, bitch.>
Norm: <I think that's all the time we've got for this demonstration! Back to you, Mr. Author!> =D
Thank you everyone, for the demonstration. Now, what words did Norm use? What key combination of letters lead to Doofenshmirtz and him creating this interesting (and mildly painful) scenario?
The words you're looking for are "Yes, and?"
This one turn of phrase is an excellent basis for improvisation, especially with other people. It acts as a rule in two parts:
"Yes" represents that you are accepting the situation presented by your partner(s) - it shows that you're not trying to subvert or change the situation as given, but are rather trying to build off of it. You are agreeing to the basic reality given by others - this is important in improv, since otherwise things become a jumbled mess of continuity. It's here that the collaboration commences.
"And?" shows that as well as accepting the premise of your partner, you are also adding to it. Certainly, be reasonable in what you add - don't just throw ninjas into every improv you do or that'll get boring!
And then you repeat the process as needed. Even Doofenshmirtz picked it up after a bit! And trust me, if Doofenshmirtz can do it, so can you!
Doofenshmirtz: <Gee, thanks for the vote of confid- OUCH!>
Existentially-Questionable Beedrill: <I'm still here.>
So don't be afraid to use this whenever you and another person are in need of something to do! Just remember that if you make any serious choices, you or your character will likely be held accountable. But then again, fixing that could also be part of the improv, or make for an amusing Noodle Incident.
That wraps it up for today's How to Improv! Remember - these are guidelines, but they're damn good guidelines!
Since I did still want to do those things I mentioned, including something only a couple people know about, I'm still sticking around.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I am confused and worried.
Are... are we okay?
Mostly this was a precaution for before things get very much not okay. But now, yes, things should turn out fine.
Okay. Thanks!
Dune: That was pleasantly amusing
So, Just a heads up to people. Moving is sorta officially happening this/next week, and that means internet is getting cut off on Monday while the service is set up on the new house (theoretically Wednesday). So I'll be totally offline for a few day, and just because of how hectic moving tends to be my availability will likely be sporadic for the rest of that week (and potentially this week too hard to tell).
I will try to post tomorrow myself. Some time around 5 pm for me.
Wow, that's weird, I am also in the process of moving! And also I have been gone cause I wanted to spend some time with Gamer before he goes back to college. But I should be able to post more flashbacks if not tonight, then definitely tomorrow.
Uh for some reason I can't access the chat anymore. Everytime I try it says "registration required"
Chat's on lockdown for a short while due to spambots. Silent will have more information shortly.

Actually, Newf, only 32 of the Gen I mon learn it (so a little over 1/5). And some of those that do learn it are REALLY odd ones. Like Butterfree, Electabuzz, Magnemite and Magneton, and even Shellder and Cloyster are some notable ones.
HUGE EDIT because Apparently I've been mistaken for over 2 years now...
I don't know how I've missed it for so long, but Nintales - and thus Kitsune - CAN NOT learn Teleport. With that said, I will not be using Kitsune to Teleport from here on out, but I've used her so much in the past, that it would be really hard to got back and find each incident of her using Teleport and then change it. With that said, let us just agree that Kitsune using Teleport has been retconned out of the RP Canon.
