How about Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Shintoist, Pagan, etc people?
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty. Then presumably that's up to their own interpretations of their own religious ideologies. I guess I don't know exactly what you're driving at... Could you clarify?
In times of change, learners inherit the Earth and the learned find themselves perfectly equipped to deal with a world that no longer existsWell, Pagans typically mind their own business.
Modern Pagan culture keeps a clear boundary between "things that affect you" and "things that ain't none of your business".

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.My personal belief is that without a rational basis for your belief, you really have no bloody clue what the ramifications are for what you're proposing, how to counteract any of the downside of what you're proposing, etc. As such, laws should not be arbitrary, and they should be based, at least somewhat in terms of rational thinking. (Hint. Religion-based laws are by and large arbitrary)
Democracy is the process in which we determine the government that we deserveLying to the Senate people!
Over here that would get you sacked and thrown out of your seat.
Eh, nothing, it just sounded like you were going for "Religious people should not be allowed in governments" argument for a moment there, Zed.
For the record, that drives me up the wall to no end since just because you have someone of some faith in the White House doesn't mean that the Church and State are no longer separate. That only occurs when, say, the Pope is also President or that some religious organization's say have equal or overriding control of the government as the general population. Voting with a religious reason in mind doesn't mean the church and state are no longer separate.

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty. No, my beliefs are not even shared by a large majority of the Christian population.
All I'm saying is, by my interpretation of the Bible, being a part of a governing body that creates laws or to declare war on others is not compatible with Christian faith.
If a Christian gets involved with the government, that's their decision and I don't have a problem, necessarily. I just believe that I shouldn't be in the business of coercion due to my faith, so I don't seek a position of authority.
In times of change, learners inherit the Earth and the learned find themselves perfectly equipped to deal with a world that no longer existsThat honestly sounds like an interesting topic to discuss in, well, a new topic.
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.Agreed.
While I would be the first to admit that I've been actively derailing the topic, I would like to get back to the topic at hand.
In times of change, learners inherit the Earth and the learned find themselves perfectly equipped to deal with a world that no longer existsPaying taxes is a tough point, because as a non-resistant Christian, I don't believe I should be paying the government because that money goes towards harming others.
That is a fair enough really. It reminds of that hippie baker chick in Stranger Than Fiction who refused to pay her taxs in protest to the war.
Any back on the OP, No only a very small amount of what Planned Parenthood does is involves abortion. But that is the service that a lot of people have problems with.

hashtagsarestupidPlanned Parenthood prevents far more abortions than it carries out.
Also: A Republican politician tells a blatant lie for ideological reasons. Stop the fuckin' presses.

Stuff what I do.Hey we got strike back? When did that happen?
hashtagsarestupidAbout the day after he took it away. Only on the fora though.
Incidentally, I wonder if "It wasn't meant to be a factual statement" will become a meme in the near future...
They lost me. Forgot me. Made you from parts of me. If you're the One, my father's son, what am I supposed to be?It totally should. Let's get on this.
So do you strike?
And that would be a fun meme.
Lets do this. Lets make it happen.
Please.@Karalora: It isn't just that he lied, but people believed him. That's wrong.
It's already a Twitter hash, to be honest. Colbert has been on it all day.
Democracy is the process in which we determine the government that we deserveLocked for being completely off-topic.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
@KCK I don't think Christians should make laws, because they are only enforced by threat of punishment. I think that good people obey laws, bad people don't — note the Tolstoy quote from earlier. Paying taxes is a tough point, because as a non-resistant Christian, I don't believe I should be paying the government because that money goes towards harming others. However, I would be a liar to say that it wasn't a difficult thing for me to make a decision on. There are untold depths to the passage about giving to Caesar what is Caesar's... But that's a whole other thread.
