Given that the article provides no evidence of "mental diminishing" outside of the statement of someone who used lost a lawsuit, I don't really think anyone can say something about this.
Is he making bad decisions, misapplying case law, or otherwise assisting in a miscarriage of justice?
Unless the answer to those is Yes, hell no, back off and let the man do his job. It's nice to know that someone is.
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswBloody hell, 103 and still sharp. Man must have one heck of a good lifestyle.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.Nobody over age 70 should hold authority over others.
Old people should semi-retire and mentor, not take charge themselves.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.And why do you think so?
Nobody under age 50 should hold authority over others. They should respect their elders and do what they're told, those young whippersnappers. Arrumph.
But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Just goes to show that the biggest cause of decline among the elderly is retirement. Keep on trucking, judge!
i. hear. a. sound.I was just being Devil's Advocate in the OP, as it gets brought up in the article. I don't suppose he should be forced out either.
DumboI would think that if his decisions were unwise, he wouldn't have the unwavering support of every practitioner of law in the courthouse.
Sounds like he's doing okay to me.
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.Unless the answer to those is Yes, hell no, back off and let the man do his job. It's nice to know that someone is.
. Might be an urban (well er...not extacly "urban")legend but my dad tells of a woman in a small town in North Dakota near where he grew up that was getting ready to turn 100. They town was planning a big celebration for her birthday. Unfortunately she died just a few days before the party. Of a heart attack. While fixing the shingles on her roof.
My North Dakotan grandmother is 89. She likes doing puzzles so everyone sends her puzzles for Christmas and brings her more when they come to visit. When asked what she was planning to do with the batch she was working on when she finishes she replied that she was going to take them "to the seniors down at the center."
In a less flattering example my other grandmother who lived in Kansas (where the judge is from)did not take good care of herself but still lived well into her 80s confusing the doctors.
Maybe Midwesterners are just hard to take down?

Watch what you say... Joe Mc Carthy is reading your posts. They tend to be, my great grandpa kicked out at 92, Iowa farmer boy. My great grandma is 87 and still kicking.
My grandma on my dads side died at 83 after smoking like 4 packs a day for decades. I literally don't have a memory of her when she didn't have a cigarette in her hand, except when she was opening up a pack to grab another.
Tornadoes make you stronger.
Fight smart, not fair.If the man is still astute and sharp at his age, he should get a goddamn Medal of Badassery, cause the man has some badass cred.
What do you think? Should he be forced out?
