Elemental Armor is a Sub-Trope of this that involves individuals with Elemental Powers using said powers to create armor. Either these examples should be moved to the Elemental Armor page, or else the two pages should be merged with a soft split.

  • Gaara from Naruto usually covers himself with sand armor that looks like his own skin when his sand shield is not enough. He can also channel Shukaku and assume its form. Funnily enough the 'armor' aspect is negated in a full channeling as he has to remain exposed on Shukaku's forehead.
  • In Yu Yu Hakusho, there is Risho, the demon ninja with power over rock that Kuwabara fought in the Dark Tournament. His main attack was to create a rock armor then tackle his opponent.
  • The Mimetic Beasts of Godannar, who are small, alien organisms who create huge bodies for themselves out of available materials - whether that is rocks, people, or a space-shuttle...
  • Magneto of the Marvel Universe has been known to do this, from time to time, using his metal-control. Ranging from reconstructing his own broken armor from nearby junk, to forging himself into a gigantic steel titan!
  • Alloy from The Descendants does this using whatever metal happens to be available. He actually discovered his powers this way. (This is iffy: It sounds like an Elemental Power to me)
  • Occasionally used by Earthbenders in Avatar The Last Airbender, making rock-suits for themselves. During the Final Battle, Toph also demonstrates her mastery of Metalbending by making herself a metal-suit on the spot...
  • In the DCAU Justice League, Queen of the Royal Flush Gang could move and shape metal with her thoughts. At one point, she uses it to create a suit of armor and a sword out of casino tokens.

I suppose it would be possible to build elemental armor without it being Instant Armor.

Fight smart, not fair.

IMO I think we should solidify the example of requiring it to be a worn armor rather than just barriers or such.

Also agree. Suggest YKTTW Elemental Shield.

Yeah. For instance, the Iron Man Armored Adventures and Metroid example work. Naruto and Mass Effect doesn't.

EDIT: I think I'll have a rename for Elemental Armor too.

The Dead Space 2 example belongs in Collapsible Helmet, while the armor can be put on rapidly it requires a machine to do so.

Clocking due to lack of non-bumping activity.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.
