What's the point of the whole "fridge" part anyway? You either notice it or you don't. What difference does it make whether it happens straight away or after some time? That just ensures duplicate entries between and .

Fridge: Interesting things you noticed in the plot and that you want to point out.

Could I put a disclaimer on the JBM page saying something like:

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR STEALTH COMPLAINING. COME HERE ONLY IF YOU HAVE SINCERE QUESTIONS.

that would be a good idea, except most of the complaining is not "stealth".

That should be at the top of every JBM page.

Does that mean you're not supposed to discuss things in Fridge? Because that's news to me.

^You can discuss in fridge, I believe. The way I'd phrase the difference is:

• IJBM:Ask questions about things that confuse you.
• Fridge:Point out subtle things you just realized and thought were worth sharing.

I don't really see the point in making a distinction that is limited to the original poster's intention when ultimately there is nothing stopping duplicate Fridge Logic discussions from popping up in both and . People always assume Fridge Logic is a question even if it's not phrased as such and will attempt to justify it with Fridge Brilliance.

I tend to agree that Fridge and Just Bugs Me are duplicative in their function. There's little here that couldn't be covered by an actual discussion page or forum article.

Okay. This is what I posted on the Just Bugs Me page.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR COMPLAINING. This is place to go when you have a sincere question. Not stealth complaining like "Why dose show suck so much?"

I think the bold caps are a bit much. I'll tone them down a bit. We also have very little info clairfying what the page is for. Most of the description is about how to make them.

We need a nice new description to go along with the name.

That's a start I guess, but nobody looks at the main page. What we need is a permanent banner for the namespace like YMMV has. And again - are we going to have to rename every manually or is Eddie going to do some magic trick?

So, what are we going to do after the namespace gets renamed? My suggestion is to:

• 1. Write a guidelines page or something like we did with troper tales.
• 2. Make a special efforts thread to clean the namespace.

I can see the lice jokes already...

I see the complaining about the change already...but I don't object. It's just that will become an Artifact.

Now I may be speaking too soon, but I don't really see a major backlash coming from this one.

I don't think Head Scratchers is any less witty than Just Bugs Me, it's just more clear.

Other than "It's different", I really don't see any reason to complain.

I'll do this change in the database. I think we've let it run long enough. We have potentially a low-furor change for once. Knock wood.

edit to add: Oh, we need a new namespace icon. The bug will make no sense at all.

I'll handle the inbounds by rewriting the URL. So, no.

Possibley,with a change like this it would make sense.

It may even be a good idea to put up a headline and let it run a few days before making the change.
