I like Charons Ferry for this trope.
Although Psychopompmobile is hilarious. :P Also weighing in as someone who knows the term psychopomp.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Favoring Psychopomp Mobile as a redirect. Still prefer either Soul Ferry or possibly Afterlife Transport.
Fight smart, not fair.Should we make an alternate names crowner? I don't think we need a rename since the policy is to rename if it shares a name with a work.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSupport crowner time.
Fight smart, not fair.My vote would be for Charons Ferry as the title and Afterlife Transport and Psychopompmobile (in my opinion funnier as one word) as redirects.

Seconding the above post. Including the part about it being funnier as one word.
There is already another thread about Ghost Ship, which includes Soul Train, so this is a second thread about the same article name.

Here's a vote for Charon's Ferry as the main, Afterlife Transport as the redirect.
Bump. Anyone for a crowner now?
I find Afterlife Transport to be very dull, which is unfortunate since it's clear. I guess I support Charon's Ferry — but worry a bit that when we name after specific modes of transport, that's what we get in the examples.
The one I really want but know we probably shouldn't use... well perhaps a little pastiche expresses it best:
"Hades", Charon muttered. "Keep forgetting to get to Lethe on time. Could make up time goin' via Cocytus but that's just sad." He quickly closed Skullbook, turned off the psychopomputer and left his apartment. His psychopompobile awaited in the drive below. Getting into the driver's seat he checked his psychopompadour in the rearview mirror, made sure he had both of his psychopompoms and set off for work — Cerebus barking after him in alto, tenor and bass.

Afterlife Transport is very dull indeed ... I imagine we could brighten it up a bit by calling it, say, Afterlife Express?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.That will still make it sound a bit too much like it's only trains. The current train related title and description are stunting the trope's growth. No mention of trains in the title would be a great boon to it right now. Anything else will let it grow some more diverse examples.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAfterlife Transport could serve as redirect. I think Charons Ferry would be better, since Afterlife Transport makes me think a somesort of tranport in afterlife, not to afterlife.

I vote for Charons Ferry. Psychopompmobile sounds like a prog rock group that might have done sessions for John Peel.
"Well, it's a lifestyle"Shall we do a crowner then? I think we have enough titles.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHow do you make a crowner, exactly?
Also, while off-topic, "psychopompadour" is Made Of Win.
Crowner here. Please add names. The instructions for making them are in the How to Fix a Trope thread.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAdded the previously suggested Afterlife Express, for I liked it. Personally, I don't think it implies 'train' at all.
Express is really only ever used for trains. I've never heard the word used for any other form of transport.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI think Afterlife Express is awesome. Better than Charons Ferry because the ferry to Hades evokes a mood that I don't really like for the trope—it makes me think of a little rowboat-type thing. This trope is more like a train than a little boat.

Rhymes with "Protracted."Can't the trope be any vehicle that provides souls passage to the afterlife?
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Yes, but a bigger one feels more appropriate to me than a little tiny one.
Anyway, when you meet Charon, you're already at the River Styx, right? So he's almost more like St. Peter than the Grim Reaper.
Rhymes with "Protracted."The banks of the River Styx are the place where life meets the after life. So he's more like the grim reaper than Saint Peter. The river is sort of everywhere at once. It's the boundary of life and death.

Crown Description:
Charons Ferry works - though part of me thinks we ought to have an alternate title for those who don't know their Greek Mythology. Afterlife Transport is the most boring possible title, thrown out there just to give a baseline. Phantom Train is better... but since I do like my Greek Mythology, cast my vote for Charons Ferry.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.
