Just as a heads up, Sword Valley becomes permanently blocked off after a certain point as you are going up the Mechonis. This includes all quests, Unique Monsters, etc.
The cut off point is shortly after getting off the elevator at the top of the first area of the Mechonis.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Ok, rare Blade #2. Ursula. Little girl, giant bear
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Good roll. Now you can properly proceed to never use her just like she's designed.
Ursula is one of the best healers in the entire game. Filling out her affinity chart just takes a really long time and requires her to spend a ton of time outside the party.
Go for three. Agate.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Agate is evil to get early.
She's not a particularly good blade and you won't really be able to advance her affinity chart at all until chapter 8.
Agate can work on either Rex or Nia. Ursula probably works best on Nia for now. I hope you rolled your blades on the right drivers!
Ursula also works great on whoever you choose to take manual control of.
Her biggest perk is that the mere act of switching to her in battle heals the entire party, which makes her a fantastic panic button.
Pyra just turned Super Saiyan. Discuss.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Super Saiyan Tsundere.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Congratulations you now have the single strongest blade outside of NG+.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThat's debatable. Because Poppi exists.
Heh. Should we start playing the Ultimate Battle for her...
Come to think of it, Foresight does make a good substitute for Ultra Instinct.
One Strip! One Strip!I watched the Blushy Crushy scene on youtube and my spine near leapt out of my mouth out of shame.
That is one of the best Heart-to-Hearts in the game.
You and I cannot be friends.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! The BEST, however, is Cressidus's in NG+.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm gonna have to agree with Mr. Badguy. I was getting secondhand embarrassment the whole time.
I still don't know what to think about the localization choice of saying "blushy crushy".
The Japanese version has Tora say "moe-pon".
I spent the entire time laughing my ass off and trying to figure out what Japanese word they decided to translate as "blushy crushy."
For the record, it's moe.

I don't know what they were thinking either but I love it for how ridiculous it is.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I hated that sketch and I'm glad I didn't do it in front of any family member.
And considering how little privacy I get, that's not easy.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah that scene barely registered, if I'm being honest. I certainly didn't find anything embarrassing about it.
This song needs more love.Went ahead and got the DLC pack. It’s downloading right now. Does any of it require New Game Plus? I don’t think so, but I don’t remember for sure. Definitely looking forward to challenge mode. Crossovers are fun.
Are we spoiler-tagging the names of DLC Blades? I’m not sure it’s necessary, since they’re shown off openly upon release, but I’ll do it for now just to be safe.
Speaking of challenge mode and DLC Blades, I checked the wiki, and why are vegetables one of Shulk’s favorite categories? I thought he didn’t like them.
On a different note (legitimate spoilers for chapter 10 here), have any of you tried putting Shulk or Fiora in your active party and talking to Klaus? If there’s no special dialogue for it, then that’s one heck of a missed opportunity.
Some of the DLC requires NG+. Specifically that related to certain Blades and obtaining a second affinity chart for each Driver (including a new super mode for one of them). The shops that sell things like parts for Poppi and legendary core crystals are also NG+ only.
I haven't tried talking to Klaus with them, but there are some neat post-battle conversations. Examples include Fiora mentioning to Poppi that she's also got experience having a metal body and Mythra getting really really curious about Shulk's weapon and him saying they'll talk about it later.

I know that New Game Plus has exclusive content (extra Blades, new affinity charts, etc.), but that was a free update anyway. I wasn’t sure if any of the paid content requires you to be on a New Game Plus file.
Couple of tips for Sword Valley
Don't attack the Fortress units unless you want hell or if you're prepared for them. They're normal enemies that are on par with Unique Monsters so I would be careful against those. There's one Unique Monster version that is very high level that I would recommend after finishing the two areas after Sword Valley, but you need to do a quest on the third gate to reach it.
If you really want to do the quest version of the Fortress unit (And the Unique Monster version) fight it at the top, you'll do double damage and they can't do a devestating Ao E attack. You can't do chain attacks however.
There's a Unique Monster called Lightning Ronove that you should Monado Purge or Mind Blast ASAP. It has a really nasty spike, you also need to kill it for a surprise quest (It gives you a lot of EXP and Gold).
Otherwise I don't think there's much to say, other than the camera is a bit of annoyance in the fight against Metal Face/Mumkhar.
