Yes, party equipment carries over automatically.
I must admit, it took me a moment to figure out who "Carna" was. Having Danbooru tags refer to characters by their Japanese names can get confusing sometimes. Having all the other characters' Japanese names be only one letter different at most helped me narrow it down, though.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Riki is the best! I goddamn love that little fluffy guy.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Heropon very cool!
PSN ID: FateSeraph Congratulations! She/TheyHeropon Riki bestest.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!RIKI PROTECT FUTURE OF SIDEKICKS!
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. And Riki strongest than Reyn!
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Riki can win by himself.
PSN ID: FateSeraph Congratulations! She/TheyI've made a little more progress on rebuilding Colony 6. I've now completely restored Housing and Commerce, and I'm one level away from completely restoring Nature and Special.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.I've now beaten the boss of Bionis Interior. The cutscene before the fight was icky. It also took me two tries to beat her.
I'm very close to completing the reconstruction of Colony 6. I think I'll try to do that, then I'll head into the endgame.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. When you do, make a hard save. There's an enemy that only appears once, after Colony 6 is complete; it holds a number of items and equipment that have no other source and can only be gotten by farming with Riki Steal.
PSN ID: FateSeraph Congratulations! She/TheyOf course, said enemy is level 99. I'd probably only do that in New Game Plus.
I was so pissed about that enemy. I'd gotten everything for Colony 6 and I didn't expect that I'd need to basically be at max level to finish it. :(
You could do it in New Game Plus, but what I'd recommend is saving and copying your file right before the point of no return; keep playing so you can see the ending and feel accomplished, but then load the file from before and do all the "postgame" stuff there instead of going through the plot all over again in New Game Plus.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Actually, if you're underlevelled, it might be better off doing the story again for the sake of getting a little extra EXP, as well as The Monado III.
Meh, I was able to clear everything up to and including Abaasy without having to go into New Game Plus. There's certain areas where you can level up pretty quickly.
The only real reason to do New Game Plus is because you get a lot of AP and SP from discovering the Landmarks and Secret Areas over again. That and the Monado III, but the superbosses are still perfectly beatable without it.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I've now fully restored Colony 6's Nature. All that's left now is Special.
I've made a little bit of progress into Prison Island, too. I gotta say, this is one of the fanciest prisons I've ever seen. I mean, a Banquet Hall? An Arena? It's more like a castle than a prison. It's mood just feels completely different than the rest of the locations in the game. I like it, though.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. That's because it technically was a castle built by the Giants (Which is why everything is larger than life). Some time after their extinction the High Entia turned it into a prison for Zanzer.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I am now about to cross the Point of No Return. I made a second save slot, in case I decide I want to finish anything up after I beat the game. Here goes nothing!
Edit: I've now beaten the game! That was a wild ride. The final form of the final boss took me two tries, but that was only because I accidentally used Monado Armor instead of Monado Shield in response to a vision.
Now that I've beaten the game and seen the ending, I created a New Game + file, but I also still have the file from before I crossed the Point of No Return.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.I'd personally recommend just playing your before-the-ending file to mop up the additional areas, Unique Monsters, Colony 6, ect.
All New Game Plus gives you is the Monado III, which is good but absolutely not necessary and not really worth going through the story again for.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I finally got past my roadblock of the Leone Telethia in my low level run. Did it at level 30 (enemy's level is 36).
It was annoying because I had to rely on a team of Shulk, Sharla, and Riki in order to make sure I kept high tension, but I did not have a reliable way to topple once I did. Shulk doesn't get his own topple art until endgame, and Roly Poly is neither accurate with topple nor can affect enemies higher than 10 levels above him.
One thing I've been noticing, AI Shulk doesn't spam Buster like he does when you are higher leveled than enemies, but he does spam Speed. Which can be annoying when I want him to Purge.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Using Sharla with Riki is redundant.

So I'm planning to start a New Game Plus, but there's the whole thing with the Monado III. Since Shulk has it equipped by default at the end of the game, I can't select that to be carried over. Will it be done automatically? Same goes with anything else my party has equipped.
