...Wow. I had no idea they were that into the sparkly and impractical dresses. If I want a Mulan doll, I want it to wear the army uniform and come with a sword, dammit! Now I see where you're coming from. If Merida is awesome, which she probably will be, I don't want her to be Chickified for the merchandise.

That hair. Oh my GOSH that hair. I salute Pixar and their courage! (Unless somehow I'm mistaken and Hair became super easy to animate)
Oh my God. That is gorgeous. The detail, on the bow and her face and her hair - it's amazing! Everything is amazing, and I love how she's not conventionally "Disney Princess" pretty.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."What makes me think this is Lee's response to seeing the bad reviews for Cars 2 coming in and posting a sweet teaser for Brave a year in advance to assure us that a good movie is coming up?
Also pleasantly surprised she's not stereotypically Princess-gorgeous. Though so help me God, if there's a She Cleans Up Nicely moment I will hurl a javelin at the screen.
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake! It's set in old Scotland. She's probably just one of the guys.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/If I see one trace of her lowering her strengths for the sake of the gender ghetto, I'm going to be pissed.
She looks younger than I expected. I LOVE how her hair looks like it was colored with crayons!

I'd be pissed if that happened too, and yet I'd be equally pissed if this ends up being a You Go, Girl! movie. It doesn't sound like it's headed in that direction, but I'm just praying that either way gender won't play a huge factor into it.
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!THAT HAIR!!! <swoons>
i. hear. a. sound.Yeah, I just want it to be about a kickass person, who happens to be a girl. No Chickification, but no explicit and Anvilicious feminist messages. Pixar's lessons have always been sweet, universal, and not politicized (except for perhaps Wall-E). It should stay that way.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."The politics in Wall-E came by accident. The environmental destruction was simply a plot device and conservative critics saw things that no else saw.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Hmm, I thoguht I saw a Green Aesop in there, even if it was part of a general Aesop on what it meant to be human. Not saying it's bad, I loved Wall-E, but it's not totally unreasonable to say that there was an environmental message there.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."If anything, it was just an Accidental Aesop. The message was there, just not front and center and made with the message in mind.
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!Just to clarify: I'm conservative (well, for TV Tropes standards...) and I loved Wall-E, and the message was very well delivered.
Back to the topic: MY GOD, those pictures are just amazing. ME WANTIE
Please don't shoehorn in a token romance please don't shoehorn in a token romance... If it's not a token romance and it's well written and if I'm not shouting "BUT THEY SPENT TWO DAYS TOGETHER HOW THEY HELL DO THEY THINK THEY'LL SURVIVE MARRIAGE?!" at the screen, fine, but please don't shoehorn in a token romance...
i. hear. a. sound.Do we know anything at all about the plot?
Only the briefest, sentence-long description.
This is still a Disney movie, so don't go hoping for A LOT of realistic themes in it.
Thus far, I don't think there's been even a hint of a romance in this one. From the descriptions of the film I've heard, I'd say the theme is something like "take responsibility for your actions, and repair the damage you do."
Quick, before Disney notices!
Wait, wasnt there supposed to be a teaser in front of Cars 2? Our theater didn't have it!
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake! That's why you don't watch movies on opening day: The projectionists probably haven't caught all their dumb mistakes yet!
Apparently it's only in front of the 3D versions
Bastards. I specifically avoided the 3D version cause I heard it washed out the color.
Bah. Obligatory 3D needs to die a fiery death.

Oh my god all those sparkles. I like sparkles, and that is too much sparkle.
