I'm definitely going to see this tomorrow before seeing Kick-ass2 and Smurfs 2. Definitely want to see what came after the film and if the Lipstick demon will return.
seeing the commercial i feel there's a meme in the making:
demon fester: "HE HAS YOUR BABY!!!"

where's that image come from, a web comic?
also, just realized i mistook "insidious" for "sinister".
damn similar titles!
also, didn't it seem like fester's arm look real long?
It's from Ctrl Alt Delete, from an infamous comic where the protagonist's girlfriend miscarries.
That trailer makes it look like a bit of a rehash. Obviously you can Never Trust a Trailer, but that's what I'm seeing.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)Saw the second film tonight.
's alright. Still over-reliant on jump-scares, but the nods to The Shining and Psycho are pretty neat.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)Moviebob mentioned Jack Torrence in his review of the film.
Just saw Chapter 2 and I loved it. Lot's of jump scares, but some were quite good. The plot was well handled, IMO, and I genuinely like the characters, so I didn't need to be scared to enjoy the film anyway. This is one of the few horror films I can actually say that about...
The theater I was in was awesome. Practically everyone clapped when Elise came back, and when Renai attacked Parker with a pan and Dalton showed up with a bat. Oh, and "Hunter, Ninja, Bear." Really, it was one of the best experiences I've had in a theater.

"With hard work and dedication, I will become a splendid ninja!"Were you in the same cinema as me?!
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)Just got back from watching chapter two. Loved it. It's one of the few horror films I've seen with an actual engaging plot. Loved the scares, the time traveling and the big bad. Tucker and Specs got a few chuckles from me. Unfortunately there was a guy with something wrong with him sat beside me who was constantly repeating every line under his breath amongst other noises. So some of the tension and suspense of the film was lost but, ah well.
My fanfic outline. RIP PoseyFINALLY saw the film. It was good but I hope James Wann hires a better cinematographer if he does more films. Half of the film was in shaky cam.
Loved Leigh Winnel's role, he was silly.
Hope this becomes a series like Saw. They already have the Saw staples such as Twists, complex family lines, and good actors. The theme of this series is gender challenging ghosts. I like it. Hope the lipstick demon returns if they make a sequel, I was waiting for Tiny Tim's music to pop up in the film.
Not sure why my mother thought this movie was slow.
The part with the dancing boy in broad daylight was the creepiest moment in the whole film (especially when he just popped right out of the closet and ran past Renai), but it would've been creepier if Tiny Tim hadn't been playing in the background. I get that Soundtrack Dissonance is a thing, but…
1. The trope's way overused.
2. It's Tiny Tim.
I thought the interactions between Dalton and his parents were really heartwarming also, but I can see why some people feel this is a stupid movie. And yes, the demon is pretty much Darth Maul.
The Demon and Darth Maul both have elements of the classic 'devil look', so I'm not surprised they're being compared so much. It's starting to irk me a bit though, because once you get past the black and red colored face, they're actually quite different*.
"With hard work and dedication, I will become a splendid ninja!"... and was completely nude in those scenes (something which, once I saw it, I could not unsee it). Also played by the guy who composed the music for the film incidentally.
One of the more subtle bits, which later got pointed out in the commentary, is that the little ghost boy shows up earlier in the scene, standing against a wall, while the mother walks right by him.
The 'little ghost boy' is also played by a adult man.
That's what I thought. That thing wasn't a little kid, which is why it scared me so bad. Renai says, "It was a child, but…it wasn't a child."
Went to see Chapter 2 with a friend a few days ago. Was actually surprisingly good, the scares got me and I liked the plot. And I don't know if it's just because I'm an inattentive forgetful nut, but that part where Josh was revealed as the piano player actually surprised the hell out of me, I'd forgotten he was still in the Further.
The part where Those Two Guys saw the little girl was funny as hell too. It started off suitably creepy, then the way they just briskly strolled out at her warning... say what you will about these films, those guys are the perfect comic relief.
Unfortunately, an alarm started going off in the theater right at the chandelier-falling part and we had to leave. Will have to finish watching later...
There was a similar scene in Chap. 2, when the woman in white first showed up to Renai. She's talking on the phone and you can see the lady calmly sitting in a chair in the background.

Borne By StormsI really want to see this become a series about the two men and the ghost investigators, I think that would be refreshing to the genre.

Just saw the ending on Youtube.
Looks like Redface is back.

I am not going to watch the trailer. I remember how much the first film's trailer spoiled and how glad I was I saw the film without seeing it (in fact I did not even know a horror movie was in the DVD player when we turned it on).
I just might watch the sequel though (personally I think it does not need one but why not?)
