If someone is clearly using the text in a way not intended. "The hairs on this arms turned yellow because of contagious skin disease, making him unclean." Becomes "Blond people are evil." Or "His skin turned white because of the contagious disease making him unclean" becomes "White people are evil". Then that's clearly fandumb who are only picking out certain sentences of the book without bother to read the whole thing or much less research the topic. In the Bible unclean is described as unable to attend worship service until a day after you've become clean, it may happen by no fault of your own. Unclean=evil was an exaggeration that Jesus himself called the pharisees out on. Research? Some fungal infections have turned hair whitishyellow or skin pale.
Hatedumb is dumb trope I want cut, since we never made a distinction between dumb fans and dumb haters before, but that's for another time. I don't see what's so bad about calling the fandumb out for being dumb.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackSome of the Bible YMMV make sense to keep (e.g. Love It or Hate It, Broken Base, Internet Backdraft), but yeah, looking at the history, this page needs either a lock or a curator.
Yes. The Bible is a work with tropes, and if it has tropes, it needs a YMMV tab.
Being locked wouldn't be a bad idea though.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianSpeaking of which, is anyone keeping an eye on the character sheet?
Being that the Main page is locked, the YMMV page should be locked as well.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!Along with the character sheet - I'm making another thread for that.
The characters page seems to be neutral and natter free. Easy target for trolls, though.
Never be without a Hat! Hot means heat. I don't care if your usage dates to 1300, it's my word, not yours. My Pm box is open.It suffers from Alternate Character Interpretation everywhere. Look at the attempts at being neutral by slapping YMMV onto everything.
Slapping ymmv on everything is better than having natter and arguments and flame wars.
Never be without a Hat! Hot means heat. I don't care if your usage dates to 1300, it's my word, not yours. My Pm box is open. Both are inherently bad. If you have to slap YMMV on it, it doesn't go anywhere outside the YMMV page.

Then let's move the ymmv stuff to the Ymmv tab instead of arguing about it.

I saw something about this elsewhere, then saw this thread. I fully agree that it should be locked - in fact, it probably needs locking more then the main The Bible page does, really, given the nature of YMMV tropes.
it's no different than any other work of fiction (basically a collection of myth and folklore stories), it uses tropes and some of those tropes will be YMMV. Keeping it locked to keep the fan boys at bay is probably a good thing though.
Supporting lock, opposing cut...
I am now known as Flyboy.
Considering the amount of Internet Backdraft The Bible gets, I'm not really too keen if we should have a YMMV page for The Bible (or at least having it unlocked) considering that adding some YMMV tropes aren't a good idea for polarizing topics. Heck, some tropers have been sneaking Fan Dumb and to a lesser extent Hate Dumb as an example perhaps as a Take That! from time to time (which i deleted). What do you guys think?
