Agreed.
The episode was great as always, but I kinda wish that they didn't have a preview for it like last episode. It didn't focus on Tucker vs. Felix as we thought it would. That's fine with me, but it's a case of Never Trust a Trailer.
Now Felix is closer to being Tucker's symbolic opposite - loud, abrasive, sociable, and a badass alien energy sword. And then, mind, Tucker was the only skilled member of Blue Team prior to Washington and Tex, and here, Felix was the only skilled member of Kimball's resistance.
Washington and Locus don't have that level of symmetry yet, but it's getting there, if that flashback from the temple was any indication.
Actually, let's examine that. In Locus' flashback, he and Felix were 'tasked' with killing an alien due to paranoia. They were given an assignment that, apparently, wasn't the cleanest operation, as Felix even notes that "the two of them will be there for weeks if they have to go on some BS spiritual talk with all the people they've killed" and later mentions "he saw shit from his worst nightmares".
Project Freelancer was probably similar for Wash. Every other Freelancer is dead, except for Carolina. And we haven't seen any of those guys Felix and Locus were with, so there's a chance they're dead too - Carolina and Wash could be a thematic opposite of Locus and Felix, moreso than Tucker and Wash really. Carolina and Locus seem to be at least a little traumatized (and have at least one scene where they break typical formality and try to brute force their way through a problem). Not sure how she'd compare to Felix though.
Well, it could all be a coincidence, maybe. Maybe Felix chucks the sword off the helicopter next episode.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!On this episode of Rv B PSA's: Trigger Warnings... They can wreck your shit. Just ask Caboose!
[DATA LOST]Damn, that was funny. Also, nice to see Doc and O'Mally doing their Flip Personality talk.
Oh man, that was a thing of bea-uty!
Trigger Warning: Gavin Free.
This PSA is the best.
but HOW?Ah, yes, Trigger Warnings. AKA, the mass attempt to infantilize society and make sure nobody sees anything that ever affects them in any way.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Trigger Warnings are less the attempt in and of themselves and more a tool that's come out of and used to aid the larger attempt to aid the would-be effort.
Good point. It's a symptom, not the disease.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! How I've seen it used is "we're going to jump into depicting suicide/rape/abuse at length" and not "one of the characters uses racial slurs", and I don't think the former is unreasonable to bring up whether you want to call it a "trigger warning" or not. I'll try not to go into this at more length, if only to avoid the deliberate Flame Bait being planted.
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Yeah, there is a ton of controversy stemming from this episode. I personally liked it however because while I think that while trigger warnings can be used right when they are before the video, the Moral Guardians will try to have them plastered everywhere especially when they interrupt the video you are watching.
Nobody should realistically be expecting trigger warnings from a company who's very name itself is arguably a would-be "trigger" all on its own.
Is this an actual thing that's been requested of the show itself? I'd have to defer to the showrunners' inboxes, but this seems more like a perceived threat than a real one.
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Eeeeeh it's really tricky to say.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.Given that this is the internet we're talking about, and the way people are reacting on Tumblr, I would not doubt at all that it's a thing that's actually happened.
Negative reactions and discussions of trigger warnings is obviously going to happen following a video discussing it regardless of whether it was previously a regular demand or not. The mention of the term itself seems to incense a lot of people. For example, the last time I saw a really heated discussion come up was from the other direction: a Game Grumps video had an annotation with a trigger warning and there was fighting in the community over that.
That said, this video didn't really strike me as a Dear Negative Reader so much as bringing up trigger warnings because they're a Thing and the PSAs are generally about Things.
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Well, we finally found Doc's purpose in the story arc. I think the reason why the creators teleported him away was Rule of Drama (he would help keep both factions of Chorus under check, so with him gone, they argue).
Carolina and Church have a good conversation. And damn, that was sad about what happened in the portal.
Felix is pissed, Sharkface doesn't care, and Locus thinks that they are acting like children. Wait, did he say that he wanted to know more about the Meta?
Yes. Yes he did.
This is going to go so, so well.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.I'm surprised that no one has commented here in a while.
Meta's death even more confirmed then it has been and cause of death confirmed to be drowning. The talk of the Meta was exciting as well. Doc's attempts to get Kimball and Doyle to cooperate are hilarious. And then the attack at the end got me hyped up.
This is one hell of a season.
...I sort of forget this exists at least once a month. -_-
Usually helps me deal with the wait between seasons.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Y'know, it's so easy to remember how much Sigma wanted to attain metastability and what he did to get there that I keep forgetting what metastability actually means. Kinda puts everything in a different light. All the Meta really wanted... was to be human.
but HOW?Wow...O'Malley is a dick. I'm sure Grif's mom was a WONDERFUL fat bearded lady.
And dammit, Felix! I wanna hear your weakness! Stop butting in!
Ditto, but the good news is that since Price teased it, we've gotta learn at some point before the season ends.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.Aww, man, General will pretty surely die
And that's assuming the sword survived the fall.
It probably would, but who knows.
