Did Mysterio showed up lately?

I think there was a cameo.

Sooooo Anti-Venom is showing, apparently. I do not look forward to see hw they will ruin his character. I know some fans dislike him, but personally I always thought he was an interesting character. And apparently judging from the preview I saw, they reduced him to an Evil Counterpart for Agent Venom. Just great...

To sum up. Flash acts like a jerk throughout, Harry gets screwed over, and Norman goes back to being pissed at Spider-Man. The whole things reeks of "We could have avoided this", which I think is actually acknowledged, with the bonus of throwing Michael Morbius as a HYDRA lab stooge for Ock.

Wow. Way to go. They cancelled the few good bits of Character Development they had managed to do in this series, waste an interesting character to make him a one-note villain AND turned a sympathetic character with a tragic story into a nazi. I didn't think it was possible to do so many screw-up in a single episode.

What about Anti-Venom? Does its symbiot get destroyed?

They're definitely setting up their own take on Superior Spider-Man with this latest ep The mole in the team is revealed to be Scarlet Spider, and Ock now knows who Peter is

Wait we sure they're going for Superior? Jeez there's no way they could handle a gradual progressive character arc like that.

Well, okay to be fair Doc's got a surprisingly good presence here, but my doubts are high.

Don't think they'll go the Superior route, but Ock is not coming out from this intact. And dammit Cloak, you could have taken Hydro-Man anywhere so why not the desert or his old prison. The moment he say he dropped him in the middle of the ocean was the moment I knew they were screwed.

Outside the reveal, they should have had little difficulty this with the Six even with the conveniently missing members of the Academy.

Considering every season appears to have had at least one Body Swap episode, I wouldn't put Superior out.

Well, when Loki switched bodies with Spidey, Ock did say he thought it was a good idea. Still, it probably won't happen during this arc.

@Theokal 3 Anti-Venom wasn't that good of a character in the comics, since it was still Eddie Brock.

And since the Agent Venom is a good guy, it makes sense the show's Anti Venom would be a villain.

[up]Respectfully disagree. Eddie Brock or not Anti-Venom was at least interesting in how he had the ability to cure from symbiots. He also was an interesting way to explore Brock's redemption differently. True he was offed a bit too far, but there was potential. And I am complaining about USM making him a villain more because they removed whatever interesting unique aspects he had in the comic and turned him into a generic one-shot symbiot. Much like Carnage actually, now that I think about it.

Not really, Anti-Venom was just Lethal Protector 2.0.

And there was never anything unique about Carnage. He's got interesting in recent years because they play up the "crazy redneck "part of his personality.

Speaking of generic one-note symbiote villains; wonder when this show will start introducing the Life Foundation? They manage to include Shriek (one of the obscure 90s Spider-Man villains I can remember due to that one game) in a recent episode, might as well do a story arc revolving on this group at some point considering this shows track record with science based storylines and experimentation.

Not really, Anti-Venom was just Lethal Protector 2.0.

Again, respectfully disagree. I already explained how he had an interesting thing going on with his ability to heal. You're free to disagree, for all I care.

And there was never anything unique about Carnage. He's got interesting in recent years because they play up the "crazy redneck "part of his personality.

I didn't mean "unique" as in "no other character ever like him", I meant as in "Had his own personnality". Yes, he essentially was Venom with the Joker's personnality, but at least it was something. That made him a good foil for Venom, as pointed out by Linkara. There is a reason he stuck and the Life Fondation didn't. You have the right to not like Carnage, but even at his worst he was still more interesting than his USM counterpart, who was a glorified one-shot (seriously, why did they even name the episode after him, considering he appears in less than half the episode and isn't even part of the end?).

On an unrelated note, recent editions on the YMMV page of this show keep insisting that it got really good in later seasons and now has a huge fanbase. I wanted to ask, is that true? Because if I judge from what I read on this forum, the show is just as bad and disliked as before. Teen Titans Go has more tropers defending it than this.

[up]Yeah, I heard that when season 2 came out. This caused me to get back on the show and watch season 2... until around 5 or 6 episodes. At which point I realized every good episode was immediatly followed by a painfully lame one and gave up.

Have been told using this forum alone isn't a judge about this stuff. But yeah, I've generally seen people say it got better though it's a case where it went from "Bad" to "Alright". IMO, the show has a lot of wasted potential going against it.
