The Official Forum Tread for Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (Assuming there isn't one already...)

Some things I'd like to say:

Anyone else out there happy that the anime writers were savvy enough to end the anime before the new arc? ==> To me...it's sort of a cluster fuck. Enma gave up on Tsuna WAY too easily. It seemed like the whole group was playing football with the Idiot Ball.

Also, I actually REALLY liked all of the filler arcs in the anime. G impersonating Gokudera was great!

Also, the fan service in KHR seems weird. For some reason Adelheid's outfit (the top mostly) rubs me the wrong way. It just looks...awkward. The male fan service is better.

I hate every scene that involves Haru.

Most scenes that involve Lambo are bad too.

The rest is generally fine.

Well, don't forget that Enma was being pushed by his closest friends and manipulated by evil mist dude whose name I forget.

I'm reading Reborn, though I'm staying out of this thread because I've only started reading a week or so ago. I've still got a couple hundred chapters to read...

[up][up][up] See, I "enjoy"(relatively speaking) Haru, if only becuase she's more enjoyable of a character than Kyoko, because she has more of a personality. Not that that's saying much as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed on the topic of Lambo.

[up] Good luck I suppose.

Haru's personality is what is annoying to me. Kyouko doesn't really get in the way as often and doesn't annoy me as much because I don't really care about her to begin with. Plus she never does anything that causes any progress that actually matters and a lot of the time actually makes more problems in general, though I suppose the problems never really have much impact since they keep getting fixed. I wish they didn't get 5 year old Lambo (by the way, why is a 5 year old the same size or smaller than a baby anyway?) into the future though, since teenage/adult Lambo actually interests me to an extent.

Maybe Lambo's short for his age?

As for the girls, I think it's a matter of the mangaka not knowing how to write them to well. The only parts that I liked with Haru are when Tsuna explains to her what's going on in the future arc and the Haru Haru Interviews...those were hilarious.

Kyoko is pretty much a Shallow Love Interest.

I think she would save herself a lot of trouble by just turning this thing into a yaoi or something. Only problem with that would be taking away its shonen status.

I finished my Archive Binge. It was a fun read.

^ While I'm really not opposed to the Mr. Fanservice, I'd rather see more girls rather than to have the few that exist disappear. I thought Lal Mirch was really badass, but then she's probably not going to show up again...

I would like Adelheid, except I wish her fanservice was based more on the way she acted, and not her Absolute Cleavage and Most Common Superpower.

The other thing that kind of bugs me is that they're all so darn young...but I'm willing to put that out of my mind for the sake of enjoying the manga. Still, Tsuna, Haru, and Kyoko are pretty much the only characters I can actually picture in middle school.

Edit: Also, wasn't Yamamoto supposed to explain everything about the Arcobaleno after the time travel arc? Did that ever happen...? I know we found out about them anyway, but I was confused.

It hasn't been brought back up yet. So yeah no one knows about what Reborn told Yamamoto.

I do wonder why Byakuran would help Yamamoto...

Defeat Equals Friendship?

Done on one such as Byakuran?

I'm assuming that's some crazy event from the new arc in the manga which I haven't read.

I've been doing an Archive Binge on Reborn myself (since Viz just sort abandoned the series).

Actually I'm around 90% through the Future arc. Now the Future arc is pretty imfamous for its quality, I don't really wish to dredge up old discussions, but I'd still like to share some thoughts:

First off, while overall, I don't really see too much wrong with this arc, I can definitely understand how this would have been frustrating to read on a week-by-week basis. Still, I think it's a bit better than Bleach (which, despite it's many flaws, is STILL, somehow my current favorite) during the Huece Mundo/FKT arcs. At least the plot isn't spread so thinnly as it was in that series.

However, Yamamato jobbing to a wall will long remain a very hard thing for a character to redeem himself from.

Now, 'bout the Real Six Funeral Wreaths twist...

You know, Byakuran could've just have easily said something like: "I never trusted you, so I hid the real numbers of the Miliefoire forces from you, including my elite guard the (insert threatening group name)," and it wouldn't have sounded as silly.

Where I'm at now, it seems like Amano is seriously rushing through the Funeral Wreaths via 1st Vongola box weapons.

I should really catch up on the manga... I'm still near the end of the Mokuro Arc >.> And that's after skipping all the Longchamp crap. I can see why he was cut out of the anime...

As for the Future Arc, while I didn't like that revelation concerning Irie (Unless I'm a dense idiot) it was never really foreshadowed well, but despite that, and the overall length of that arc, it was still highly enjoyable and great to watch.

semi-threadnecroing here, but what really annoyed the hell out of me about the real six funeral wreaths twist was the way Byakuran went 'oh, btw, I actually have 600 people just strong as the fake funeral wreaths.'

That was just mind-boggling stupid. It made Millifore far too powerful for the good guys to plausibly win, horrifically devalued the other characters, and wasn't used intelligently; they were only mentioned twice after that, once to explain the existence of 'Saru', and once to Hand Wave why they weren't participating. And it wasn't even a good hand wave. Why even include them at all?

Also, Ghost. He gets build up to for a while, and then once he enters the scene, he KO's his allies and is then instantly beaten by Tsuna. 4/6 six real funeral wreaths taken down by a random plot device that served no other purpose than to give Byakuran a power-up he didn't need. Argh.

KHR 336: Well that was fast. I was kinda expecting maybe a breather chapter before Daemon Spade returned similar to the one before they fought Ghost in the TYL arc...

Hopefully Chrome will be able to do something in the next few chapters.

Also, nice outfit, Spade, although it's bothering me that the buttons on his shirt don't seem to be doing anything besides decoration. Oh well. It reminds me of a bullfighter, though...but I am pretty sure that's because of the high waist of the pants.

[up] Same here, not that I mind a faster pace. Though Enma's defeat kinda annoyed me. It was way too quick after all that set up. The Power of Friendship at its worst, there.

I have to say...Mukuro with long hair, it works. cool

Sorry if this is a redundant question, but is there no chapter this week?

I hadn't heard if there was or not.

Course, I'm a bit behind anyway, I just started the current arc.

KHR 337.

It's definitely super sexy how Spade wears the rings on the outside of his gloves. Seriously guys.

....okay, but really being serious now, I have never seen anyone do that. But...I guess he just does what he wants?

On a semi-related note, I like it when Hibari gets to be awesome*

but I can't shed the feeling that everyone else gets shafted when this happens. Especially Chrome—I just want her to have an awesome fight scene where she kicks ass without Mukuro's help, dammit. At least Gokudera, Yamamoto, Ryohei, Lambo, and a good number of other characters have had at least a couple times where they got to show off their badassery. I guess Chrome did have the one part where she was sustaining her body with her own illusions, which was cool of her, but I don't count that as a fight. Or have I just forgotten the fights where she did things? I did kind of binge this series really quickly, so it's possible I just missed it.

Ok, so this is me going back to answer some questions/stuff that were never acknowledged (let me know if I've missed anything).

Personally, I like Irie's involvement in the TYL arc. Then again, I liked him in general. Also, his character was introduced really early on in the manga (and in an episode or two before the TYL arc when the producers realized that this kid was actually important to the plot). Though I suppose it could all have been done better.

Personally, I too really liked the future arc. Since I'm used to stuff like Bleach and One Piece, the length wasn't an issue. Unfortunately, when people started getting annoyed and wanting it to end already, we got left with a really rushed and anticlimactic ending. The 6 real FW part is where things just went down hill, continuing into this new arc as well.

Also, "The Hyper Duo," really guys? I feel like there are too many power ups coming around (cause you KNOW there's gonna be another one later). And everyone else, just standing around watching the fight. Come on, you're not even going to try? I suppose there was a reason for banishing all the real fighters to someplace else, but they better bust their way out themselves. Hibari's with them, anything less would be disappointing.

Also, I really can't wait for Tsuna to become the Don. In fact, having little tidbits of what things are like for them (or primo's family) would have made GREAT filler episodes in the anime. Too bad that ship has sailed.

[up] Personally, I suspect Yamamoto will be able to break out of Spade's illusionary prison due to the nature of his Vongola gear.

I don't really feel like Irie's motives were fore shadowed really well. From his first appearance in the Future Arc, all the way to a chapter or two before they find him, he never once even so much as thought anything along the lines of 'Please reach me so I can stop pretending I'm totally evil' or something. And I liked the Real 6FW's. It would have been awesome if they stopped saying they were real every single time, though.

As for the new arc that I just got to, not sure if I really like the Shimon's. Most of them are just... weird or annoying. I'm worried it's going to become another Longchamp saga I'll have to skip until a new arc starts.

KHR 341: I thought Chrome was going to do something on her own there for a second, but then she needed Mukuro's help anyway. -__-

I don't really like the way Chrome suddenly realized she could do a little defense thingy to protect Enma though.
