Yeah, Meteora was good, the rest of their stuff was kind of eh.
Underneath the bridge The tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped have all become my pets'tis a quandry.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I'm not really a fan of the Who, but Live At Leeds is really something else. It's their best album and also the best live album of all time.
As a Linkin Park fan, I have to say that aside from "Breaking the Habit", Meteora is a worthless rehash of Hybrid Theory and deserves to be chucked into the garbage in favor of its vastly superior predecessor. Also, it's their only album without any b-sides, so that's another point against it. As for the topic at hand, I know what you mean. When checking out new artists, I usually download one album and don't bother with anything else regardless of whether or not I enjoyed it.
"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt." - Some guy with a snazzy hat.Lostprophets. Or rather, I actually like two albums, namely, the first ones. Their following work is just plain terrible (except a few songs on the third album that are fine).
No regret shall pass over the threshold!I dislike everything else by Born Of Osiris, but their upcoming album The Discovery sounds absolutely amazing.
Because I choose to.Right now I'm averted to anything Textures other than their debut, Polars. It kicks much ass.
Same goes for Mnemic, I only truly like their debut. They tried too hard on The Audio Injected Soul to pander to the mainstream crowd, and Passenger is half decent but I prefer Michael Bøgballe.

Pendulum's Hold Your Color. I dunno, it just feels like the later songs are more... watery than heart-pumping.
Yes, I like Pendulum. Watcha gonna do?
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudInteresting, Hold Your Colour is my least favorite album by them, possibly because it's their most "pure" Dn B album.
Damnit, I came here to say that too.
(best songs are Streamline, Girl In The Fire, and Another Planet)

Mae's first album Destination:Beautiful was (in spite of its stupid title), good but not great, an indication that they had promise. On The Everglow, they delivered on that promise. Then on Singularity, they made me wonder if The Everglow was just a fluke.
Well, that was the intention of the last one.
I like Back in Black by AC/DC, but not the rest of their stuff.
WARNING: SUM OF DIS CHAPTA IS XTREMLY SCRAY. VIOWER EXCRETION ADVISD.They only have two albums, but Panic At The Disco. I deeply despise their first album and love their second. Now I don't know what I'll think of future releases because I don't know which way they're going, haha.
I actually entirely agree with mentions of Pendulum and Hold Your Colour.
HYC is a fantastic drum and bass album, but the last two albums have been... meeeehhhhh.
Like Pendulum wants to be Owl City or something.
Again, I don't understand why people prefer that dull, boring, overly long album (I mean yeah, I like a few tracks on there, but In Silico has a MUCH higher ratio of killer to filler)
Because it's similar to more traditional Dn B affairs likeAK1200 - At Close Range, and DJ Dara - The Antidote.
Best DNB CD ever though is Dieselboy - System Upgrade. Screw Roni Size.

I love Mastodon's Crack the Skye, it's one of my favourite albums, but I have zero interest in the rest of their material.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Have you actually listened to any of their other albums? You might like Blood Mountain a little.
Vulgar by Dir En Grey. I don't know why, but I just can not get into the rest of their music at all.

Not directed towards me, but that is an insulting insinuation. Even an identical sounding album may not have the same appeal as one someone likes, as demonstrated by the OP.
"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt." - Some guy with a snazzy hat.I don't see how that's insulting and I think you need to get a little more thick-skinned if you're taking offense to a simple suggestion such as that.

You're basically telling someone that they have no idea what they're talking about. Have you considered the possibility that pagad's opinion is rooted in experience instead of ignorance?

I have some artists where they put out one album I really like, but I find the rest of their music output uninteresting. I am never sure whether to say I like that artist or not.
For instance, I really like the Linkin Park album Meteora but I don't like anything before or since.
I wonder how common it is for people to be fans of only one album from an artist. I know that Yes get this a lot, due to their propensity for making New Sound Albums.
