Am I the only one that didn't care much for the 2D segments in Sonic Colors? They just kinda slowed down the pace of the levels for me.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)No, but I liked them.
I like the somewhat slow pace myself. Super fast pace with tons of enemies and/or lots of spikes/easy deaths don't do it for me. I'd say Sonic & Knuckles was perfect in that regard. No cheap hits like that. The 3d games did that sometimes too.
So... no.
Quest 64 threadHow much did you enjoy Colors?
Seeing as the 2d segments takes up like about 88 percent of the gameplay.

Overall, quite a bit. The 2D segments weren't bad by any stretch, but I just preferred the 3D parts.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)That's the thing about Colors. It's really more of a 2D Sonic game rather than a 3D one. It's like Sonic Team just gave up on the 3D formula.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!People liking Sonic Colors... not meh.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. That's kinda the impression I got as well.
Although personally, my favorite part about Colors was how Eggman was handled. His characterization was perfect, and I cheered when I found out he was the Final Boss.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Sonic Colors did have way too much 2D. Maybe that makes the 3D segments all the more satisfying, although nearly all of them are Quick Step segments instead of free control parts.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.In my opinion Sonic Colors is kind of overrated, it makes games like Sonic Advance more underrated. Just because Dr. Eggman was final boss in a handheld game doesn't mean it's a bad thing. To me Sonic Advance is the game that brought Sonic back to his roots, it also didn't have the comedy which seemed forced to me. I found it to be boring however Sonic Generations did the humor better as it didn't seem to be as forced. I prefer games like Sonic Unleashed and Sonic 3 and Knuckles to be more better, but that is my opinion. I do like the music and the graphics in the game since it borrows Sonic Unleashed's graphic style. So Sonic Colors is kind of Eh... to me.
"Of course you do realize, this means war!" -Bugs BunnyGenerations barely had any humor.
I found it pretty funny, especially with Eggman and Robotnik/Past-Eggman.
The Advances... had no real humor. But lack of any major dialogue does that. Sonic Battle had a nice mix of humor, grimdark, etc. Which is why I love the game.
Quest 64 threadThat's pretty much the only humor to be found in the game is the final cutscene with the Eggmen, not counting a reference to a Shadow The Hedgehog meme.
I also found hitting Silver so he bounces around on the ground during the Boss Battle pretty funny.
But hey, humor in YMMV. I found enough of it funny. Just can't wait to get my PS 3 back up to fully play through it.
Quest 64 threadSince the Sonic franchise has awesome music which Sonic theme is your favorite? What I mean is which theme of Sonic the Hedgehog as in Endless Possibility, Reach for the Stars, Live and Learn, His World, etc. I found both Endless Possibility and His World to be my favorites, though I think Dear My Friend could count also since it relates to Sonic/Chip/Sonic the Werehog.
"Of course you do realize, this means war!" -Bugs BunnyProbably Open your Heart.
Hard to say. If you mean the entire franchise alone, I'm going to go with All Hail Shadow(both versions), or I Am[All of me].
I also like Open Your Heart as well.
Quest 64 threadGame theme, or character theme?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I mean as in Sonic the Hedgehog themes as in from the Sonic series. Which would mean songs like All Hail Shadow, I Am All Of Me, My Destiny, Dreams Of An Absolution, etc. I also like these songs too.
"Of course you do realize, this means war!" -Bugs BunnySo you mean themes for Sonic himself?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.@Hydronix: Generations didn't have much real character interaction to speak of. There really could have been much more humor than the final product if they actually took advantage of the character presence instead of having them stand around, say things, and be irrelevant.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Dreams of an absolution if you mean character themes.
Cutscenes are not the be-end all of humor, though. As I said, certain moments can be pretty funny.
I agree it wasn't the most funny compared to others, but it really didn't lack humor at all.
Quest 64 threadBy saying it's not the most funny compared to others, didn't you just admit it lacked humor?

I already gave all 180 emblems in the GCN version, so I'm not giving that up.
